The train sequence was absolutely awful and horrid. The village part was ok. The truck sequence was fun as hell though,.

After playing the first one, how could you NOT expect some kind of supernatural element to rear it's head. It may have blown your suspension of disbelief, but for me it seemed to fit naturally into the world they crafted in the first game. 2) What I enjoyed the most (and blown away by) were the action set pieces in the second half. It felt like the training wheels were on in the first half and they blew the doors off in the second half. Three things:

I make one statement to rest my case - late in the game you have to move some bridges for a bad guy. You end up fighting multiple ram/bluemen gorillas. You can unload clips in to them, never killing them. Bad guy comes over and kills them with one shottie blast. WTF!?

If you have to compare this to an Indy movie, you would compare it to Indy 4. None of the "good" Indy movies had blue hulk gorillas or zombies. The game is good enough without a "twist". it ruins it for me.
Wait, so you were cool with the Ark of the Covenant melting peoples faces off, priests ripping out the hears of the living through rituals and a knight, hundreds of years old, guarding the Holy Grail....but the blue hulking gorilla things (which were explained in-story) were too much?

He DID have a bad@$$ shotgun compared to a crappy pistol, so that might help. Those same creature also drop very easily with a couple of crossbow bolts or explosives. There may be some far fetched moments or seeming inconsistencies that doesn't trump the solid action gameplay IMO.

I also want to say... if you want to use Indiana Jones comparisons, when the f*** did he ever have this many gun fights. The gun play is really getting old. I want to be an adventurer, explorer, artifact hunter. Every time I turn around I'm shooting a ton of enemies.
The game is great, but there are more flaws than Sony fanboys and many in the gaming press would like to admit.

There are faults with the game (which I commented on in another thread) and I certainly don't buy into the hype that's surrounded Uncharted 2. I simply don't agree that's it's faults overshadow it's appeal and commented on the action segments of the second half of the game being exceptional.
I played it out and formulated my own opinion - just because I game on the PS3, does it mean I can't consider Uncharted 2 to be a good/great game without being considered a fanboy?
Play games, not consoles, people...

I think the great story, characters, and the actually climbing aspect of the game overshadow most of the faults. But to not have tight shooting mechanics when you are constantly thrown into gun battles is just poor oversight by the developers. Also it is a game with a lot of climbing and jumping, so why does the jumping feel spotty and random at times. I jumped through a rope twice last night in the ice caves before I finally landed it.
The same problem applies to nearly ALL first party games. Gears of War and Halo are not nearly as good as their fanboys would have you think. The Zelda series is getting old and the Mario series has been whored more than a Tijuana trannie.
The game is fun, but could be so much more. My point is - DON'T SETTLE!

Agreed. Gears and Halo are both overrated games. But the PS3 fanboys seem to flip out worse than the 360 fanboys from what I see and hear. I just assume it is due to the lack of exclusives on the PS3. I expect more from my AAA titles and refuse to buy into the hype and BS from publishers, press or fans.

Well the PS3 fanboys have been getting kicked in the b*lls for the better part of the last 3 years and look for redemption where they are able. It usually means that they push the "next big thing" coming out as the "greatest-est game EVAR", which leads to backlash from fanboys on the opposing front. A few months later 360-fanboys get their exclusive and the sides change...
Honestly, this console gen has been downright ugly with this crap and only made worse by the importance of review scores and metacritic numbers. It seems like too many gamers put too much emphasis on over inflating their opinion or de-valuing other peoples opinions instead of enjoying their hobby (or constructively discussing games). I truly hope this just dies out in the next gen and gamers can get back to...ya know...enjoying games and not trolling on the next man.

Back to the off-topic, I already had the yeti thing spoiled by a webcomic, without making it that far in the game.I'm in the first haf, but I think it's awesome so far. Then again, I absoloutely loved the first game and thought the demon-things weren't awesome, but didn't ruin the game because they were unrealistic, so evidently my opinion is invalid.

WTF is up with Naughty Dog and putting in stupid ass monsters....AGAIN!!!! Are they trying to ruin the story?? It's bad enough the game's jumping controls aren't always spot on and the damn shooting is all over the place when my reticule is right on a guy's head. But shoot anywhere else on them and it hits fine.. People need to get off every PS3 exclusive's nuts. The games are good, but nowhere near as good as PS3 fanboys make them out to be.
