the best way to look at this is this:

Goozex is a used game website and DLC or not used products because if they are there no good so they should be treated as brand new items.  If anything there an added bonus and that's it, not required.

Pm me your email addy for Lockerz invite have 9 left redemption coming soon

Considering how quick the response was in the Gears 2 thread, (which completly changed policy) I am extremely dissapointed that this hasn't been addressed yet.

For those of you who haven't read it, here it is.

G-Nitro:

What about Rock Band track packs? Their DLC codes don't affect playability for the track pack which can be played stand alone. The code is for use with Rock Band 1  and 2. Two seperate games by definition. Those codes can't be required as it doesnt affect the game being actually traded.

"Playability" doesn't even come into play for the new full package definition, in which you need EVERYTHING bought at retail. Of course "playability" is a very ambiguous term--you can play Gears 2 (non-GOTY) without the flashback maps, but I don't think someone who said the game was less "playable" without them would be wrong. If that's the case, Gears 2 is completely untradable without the unused flashback map code.

if this rule is in affect then naturally it will affect digital copies for movie trading as well

which have expiration dates. AND MS codes and PSN codes tend to have expiration dates as well, which is why Goozex is wrong in their decision. I tried to use an UNO code 2 years later and it wouldnt work. How will they handle that?

technically by there definition you get negative feedback which i think needs to be straightened out by goozex real quick.

Also another thing to consider is having a MS or PSN code is technically not trading a used copy.  It's a brand new copy for you cant trade a used code.......

I meant even codes have expirations. I was using that game as an example of the fact that codes expire.

Irony here is that if some of these game's only "upgrade" to a better version is DLC, what good would be putting one on here. I mean, you're using the game at home, you bought the "enhanced" version, why NOT use the code? Unless you're selling it on ebay or such.

Was it a case of code expiration or the code being stolen via code generator?

This all started because a single veteran member pitched a bitch about something that he should know shouldn't be required because of his own desires for it. Which is the fact one time use codes should NEVER be required on a used game site, which Goozex can't seem to understand either.

It's funny going back and reading that thread, with all the warnings of "slippery slope" regarding the exception to the rule. Looks like the G-team took heed, and simply changed the entire rule, thus gutting their business.

I'm going to keep repeating this because it's necessary to understand the implication: I will not knowingly trade a game on Goozex that puts me in a position to receive a negative. I have no idea when the FAQ was changed, and I have no idea how many trades are currently going on that violate this new rule. This is absolutely terrifying to me.

Besides the fact that the new change is completly bogus, there are two things that really bug me about this.

1.) What makes this rule better then the old one?

2.) Why, (as far as I can find) was there no official announcement about this change, and why it was being implemented?

Note that the FAQ has been updated. Under shipping:

Item includes downloadable content (DLC):

Note: When trading an item that contains DLC at the time of original purchase, it is expected that the DLC has expired at the time of trading. Users are not to expect unused access codes when trading on Goozex. If you are interested in unused access codes, we recommend purchasing new through the Goozex Exchange.

  • Full Package: Item shipped must include ALL original content that was present at the time of original purchase.
  • Disc & Manual: Item shipped must include the disc(s) & manual, and all original content that affects the playability of the game. Case is optional.
  • Disc Only: Item shipped must include the disc(s), and all original content that affects the playability of the game. Case & manual are optional.

And what, trust that the buyer will give a positive?  There is no logic to that and exactly the kind of reason that this new rule is crap.
