Thanks for searching and sharing the idea, but I have to agree with the others. the Goozex exchange is this fastpass you want. Now for the entertainment!

devyanks90:

FastPass is free at Disney. It is also free here. It called staying up to 1 am EST on the day of release.

Fastpass is free at Disney because instead of standing in line, you're making a reservation to come back later.  You're still waiting just as long (if not longer), but you're doing the waiting somewhere else.  Hardly the same thing as staying up until 1am to snipe a new release before anyone else.

link93:

why should people with more money to spend have a greater control over Goozex's supply?  Doesn't make sense to me.

Well Goozex tries to pretend like we have an "economy" in the sense of supply and demand, altering point values, etc.  Like any other economy, the people with the money to burn tend to get the better deals.  Why should that not be the case here too?  Sucks for the poor people, no doubt, but that could be an incentive for them to offer games that they might have otherwise kept so that they can get a better deal too.  Increasing the game supply is good for everyone.  So even though we have a very vocal group of people in this thread that oppose the idea, the fact remains that there are plenty of people that would participate in it.  The long waits on games is a huge turn off to new members.  If they had a way to get games faster (other than Goozex Exchange, which is presently a huge ripoff), then membership would undoubtedly increase, and with it the game supply.  Again, good for everyone.

if 300 people request a game and roughly of those - 200 people use the 250 extra points option to move further down the line then it makes the system stupid by having the majority of the requesters  having to pay an extra 250 points or 2 tokens or whatever  just to get a spot still in the 150's to 200th long wait status range

if too many people choose to use this option then it becomes useless.

Thanks for responding before actually reading my complete post.  I addressed this by saying the number of people allowed to purchase the higher queue position would be limited.  I don't know what the limits should be; Goozex would figure that out.  Maybe 50 people per game, maybe a percentage of the total requests/offers, etc.  Obviously if 90% of the people wanting a game try to get a fastpass, then people are essentially back to waiting in the standard line.

If they offer Borderlands for 2400 points this week then you have your fastpass ... and since it will end up with most of those back in the system within a month it really helps the system.

2400 points for ANY game is a total ripoff.  We all want to get games as quickly as possible, but paying essentially $120 for a $60 game is just retarded.  This is why Goozex Exchange is NOT a substitute for the idea I proposed.  Now if they start offering more games at a much more reasonable price, then I'd be all over it.

Sorry, this is a bad idea. I'd support a full on lottery system before I let people pay for a better slot. This is ridiculous and will further push users away from the site.

Ur not paying $120. Your paying 2400 points. While 2400 points is maybe VALUED at $120, it isn't $120.

....so.....you're right back where we started?  An elite few get these 'premium' spots?  How is this any different than the 'stay up until 1am' that you oppose?  Surely there'd be a race for these pricey spots just like they race to be #1 in line.

Horrible Idea. Terrible Idea. Poor Idea. Horrid Idea. Bad Idea. Need I go on?

This is not six flags, and the people that buy fast pass there I find just as big of deuches as I would find someone getting fastpass for Goozex. Shut your mouth and wait in line with everyone else.

If you don't like the idea, fine, but there is no need to be a *** about it.  How about instead of insulting people that have a different opinion, you offer up an explanation as to why you think it's such a bad idea?  Or maybe you're just resentful that those "deuches" have more money than you?  Oh and while you're at it, perhaps you can avoid quoting a full page message for a three line response.  Standard netiquette, kthxbai.

and how do you choose those 50 who get to cut in front? the first 50 who want it at 1 am on release night? oh wait thats exactly what your whining about...your idea doesnt make sense...and obviously by this thread you can see noone supports it.

Throwing money to get around problems is generally going to receive a poor response from others, regardless of its presentation...

1st - Don't accuse someone of being a d*** and then hypocritically turn around and be one right back. Argument lost.

2nd - Don't talk netiquette when you can't even spell correctly or show any of your own. OK, thank you, bye!

I wasn't hating nor do i disagree with you that his idea isn't going to work. I was just pointing out that the ones who really go out of their way to defend the system the way it is now are those that are always getting in the top 10.

Yeah funny how that works out, huh?  Thanks for making that point, even though you don't agree with me.

I'm simply offering an idea that I think could work, I didn't expect people to jump on board right away.  But I'd at least like to see some well thought out responses from people other than "it sux" or "its not fair" etc.
