This has nothing to do with the 1st Amendment. The government didn't pull the costume. This has to do with public relations and sensitivity, strictly within the company. Very irritating when people complain about violations of free speech when there was none. Not everything is protected under "free speech," as evidenced by the classic precedent-setting case where the judge said "the most stringent protection of free speech would not protect a man falsely shouting fire in a theater and causing a panic." Clearly not everything should be allowed under free speech. (I'm not implying that this particular instance shouldn't have been allowed at all.)

Sorry if you feel like I have a hobby of "pissing in your cheerios," I was just making a note of the inaccuracy of both of your statements, and wasn't even singling you out. I just felt that if you're going to complain about something, at least have it pertain to the topic at hand.
I didn't read the whole topic, but I'd just like to point out that an illegal alien costume isn't offensive. It's not pointed at any specific ethnic group, only people breaking the law. Kind of like the Martha Stewart jailbird costume. I could just as easily say that all the little kids dressed up as gangsters is offensive because it glorifies gang membership which results in much more violence and death than racism.
Racism is one of those subjects that people are just too sensitive about. If anything, whites are the ones that should be complaining. Where's "White History Month?" Where's my government money for being white? Why is it acceptable for a black person to call me a cracker, when I can't call them the n word. See that? I can't even type it out for fear of being flamed. Yet cracker is fine.
This world today is more racist against white people than any other race. The sooner everyone realizes that, the better off everyone will be.
That's just my two cents on the whole "racism" subject. Remember this just my opinion, and I will not respond to anyone who wishes to argue, because it always winds up being a long debate with someone who doesn't listen to reason and keeps bringing up the same ridiculous point no matter how many times I shoot it down.

This is also a fallacy. Who said use of the word "cracker" is fine? I have yet to see any intelligent person whose opinion I respect weigh in on the issue and conclude "yes." Both words that you mentioned are pretty prime examples of ignorant speech.

I'm not complaining, I'm being sarcastic, but its hard to get that via the internet. I find it funny that I make a lot of comments on things and you pop in and take me down a notch. Its a hate/hate relationship. You bastard.
