On Topic: That costume sounds funny, I hope see one this H'ween.
I also don't really see the O Pas bitching and moaning. There is no line in the sand on offensive things.
I think it's cool that the OP is into social issues like this. however, again personally I think it's being overblown
Gary Johnson For President 2012!
Uh I wasn't refering to the OP but the group that is doing this petition.
Costume is f'n hilarious.
Technically, we're all illegal aliens.
Not me.
how do you figure "technically"? If your case is the native american's were here first well tough noogies for them. They got the ability to build casino's and not pay taxes in exchange for their land. (i'm j/k).
SERIOUSLY, . . . . SERIOUSLY? you know i saw some little kid dressed up like Hitler last year. The only way for us to have freedom is for us not to be offended at the drop of every hat.
I don't care if illegal aliens are offended by this or not. They're illegal aliens. Tough crap on them.
That's not offensive. Period. If it had a face mask resembling a certain ethnicity then it would be, but as is it only mocks the concept and there's nothing wrong with that.
dye878: An offensive "illegal alien" costume is being sold at Toys R Us and Amazon.com as well as other stores.According to these websites, for just $39.99, you can now dress up as an "illegal alien" for Halloween. These stores are selling the costume made up of an orange jumpsuit with the words "illegal alien" written across the chest. The costume even comes with a mask of a space invader with big eyes, and a green card. The extra terrestrial creature perpetuates racism and discrimination in an already hostile environment and during a period of time when the debate on immigration reform is increasingly hateful and divisive. Please send an e-mail today to Toys-R-Us and Amazon.com and let these corporations know that this is not funny. They used poor judgement in selling this offensive product and should pull it immediately.http://www.ufwaction.org/campaign/halloween2009

People need to stop being so uptight about all this PC BS. It is obviously just a joke people need to stop getting offended by such little things, have a sense of humor and learn to laugh at yourself once and a while.

freedom of speech also means he has the right to complain about things he is offended by, no matter how silly it may be for him to be offended by it. and like you said, toys r us has the right to ignore his complaint, along with any number of other people. If it sells horribly (which i kinda doubt it will) it probably won't be back next year anyway.
