Amen! MAG is AMAZING! TO ALL YOU SOCIAL STRATEGY FPS LOVER, MAG IS THE GAME FOR YO!
stargiss: Hexpane: IGN review is up 7something. Graphics are a big let down, and glitches of course... Seems ok but I burnt out on FPS online long ago, played enough SOCOM 2 and Counterstrike to make anyone's eyes bleed. IGN is, IMO, a terrible place to get reviews. Their testers/players are terrible and they lack perspective. I haven't personally checked their review of MAG because I don't have any faith at all in their opinions. I will say though that if they gave MAG a 7 they have only strengthened my belief that they lack perspective. If you "burnt out" on FPS long ago then I suspect your opinion of any FPS to be tainted as well. Actually MAG is a revolution in online console gaming. Not only is it a great FPS but the strategic value of the game can be found nowhere else that I know. To compare MAG to SOCOM 2 and Counterstrike is a comparing apples to oranges. MAG is a social community above all else. No other console game forces the player to socialize and depend on his fellow team members the way MAG has done. I am a FPS Phreak! I will say that no other FPS on PS3 or any other platform has intrigued me the way this title has. I have played them all and for the most part the general FPS strategy is to get as many kills as you can while losing your life as little as possible. Previous and current FPS games would have the player believe that a high kill to death ratio is all important. MAG breaks new ground by letting the player be something much more than just a killing machine. The whole idea of every battle contributing to the outcome of an ever changing war is enough in itself to set MAG above all other FPSs. When you begin to think of all the ways a player is able to contribute to his/her PMC in this war MAG becomes an ideal in gaming that can not be compared to by any other console game or genre. I will give you that MAG is somewhat glitchy and the graphics do not stand out against other PS3 titles but these are extremely minor issues when compared to all that MAG has to offer the player and the gaming world. The graphics have greatly improved since the early beta rounds. The few "glitches" that remain and thelack of incredible graphics are a tiny issue when you consider that the game supports 256 players battling online together at the same time. Remember that a console game on this grand a scale has never been done in history. I can't think of one game I ever played on PS3 that had no glitches being the first game in the series. MW2 still has it's problems and the COD series has had more than ample time to perfect that world. I apologize for the lengthy post but I really think that anyone who has anything negative to say about MAG hasn't really given it an honest try. Most who have negative to say about this phenomenal game are incapable of playing a game where teamwork is key to success or they are simply fanboys of another FPS and will always be blind to the possibility that said game could be beaten in the market by any other game. If you have played in the beta rounds or have rented MAG for a night or two and have already made up your mind that it is a poor game I urge you to rent it a few more nights and really pay attention this time to what the entire game has to offer. Try to look past the graphics that agreeably are less than stellar when compared to some of PS3s great graphical works of art (Bioshock, MW1-2, etc.). Remember that Zipper had absolutely nothing to work off of or to cheat from when designing this game. They set out to build an epic game that is first and foremost a MMO. If you are able to appreciate MAG for what it offers and not dwell on it's shortcomings I think anyone will agree that this is a revolutionary way of looking at console gaming and will be the first in a whole new generation of video games. MAG is the start of what the future of console gaming has to offer. No one can ever take that away from it.

This game is nothing like Planetside, and it's also friggin amazing.
The first truly must-have exclusive FPS on PS3 since Resistance 1. Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 are jokes in comparison.
LONG LIVE S.V.E.R
Well Said! My heart belongs to SVER but now I am veteran mode onto Raven. My clan is working together to get us all the trophies for being all 3 PMCs. After the trophies are earned we will be back to SVER forever. Look me up in game if you don't belong to a decent clan. Mine is probably one of the most organized on MAG and you can count on every member to have your back at all times. MOD is our tag and destruction is our motto!

First off let me state I am an XBOX360 Fan-boy all day. I bought a PS3 for this game alone, the day I read about it in Game Informer magazine. In my opinion this is by far the greatest online game I have ever been fortunate enough to play, although I do agree the graphics and sound could have used a little more tuning, the focus was definitely on the right thing, multiplayer.
I'm not impressed with this game at all. I got it a few months ago and have barely touched it. The shooting mechanics (and the controls -- having to switch to grenades...? What?) don't seem up to par when compared to other shooters out there. Plus it's really hard to get into game modes because not as many people play it anymore.
OK, so I figure this is the best thread to post a video that I had mentioned in last night's MAG GGN. There are several other videos on YouTube that attempt to explain how to set up the PS Move controller for optimal settings, but I feel that this is the best one.
Plus, I dig the guy's accent. It'sa me, Mario!
It's interesting to watch even if you don't have a Move controller... I think it has great potential to make games like MAG much more fun and interactive.
OK, I won't give up MAG yet, I'll try setting up and tweaking my Move controller sometime this weekend if I get the time.
I really want to love this game, but it just doesn't want to love me back.I'm always walking away bow legged from playing it.
I am really impressed with the PS3 for updating games like MAG and Heavy Rain with Move compatibility. I just got matched on MAG and can't wait to get it and test out legit FPS motion controlling, Red Steel 2 was pretty good, but I hope this is even better.
Hello all,
I was extremely excited when MAG was first announced and I downloaded the beta the day it was released. That was my last day of MAG until about two weeks ago. What I once considered a glitchy, confusing, difficult, and overall underwhelming game is now one of my all-time favorite titles. Whatever they did to patch it worked. BIG TIME!
I am now in a SVER clan ([PRO]fessionals) over 450 members strong and I play on an almost nightly basis with teammates that are required to be 20+ years-old with a mic. It is by far the best and most robust clan and team communication experience I have ever encountered.
If you're 20 or older with a mic and you want to join a great clan with an awesome group of people look me up on PSN under the handle SirManBoy. Our clan also has several videos posted on youtube that'll give you a taste of what we're all about- TACTICS & TEAMWORK.
I just couldn't get into MAG... I bought it at launch, put in about 25hrs and just didn't find it any fun. I've been hearing so many good things though lately that I am considering coming back. Bad Company 2 is dying fast for me and I need an online shooter fix lol
