Kenny007:

Everyone is forgetting the point that UC2 is worth 2400 points as well.

Consider the additional 1400 mark up assurance of three things you DON'T get with the standard Goozex service:

1) Guaranteed a new title

2) EXTREMELY fast shipping (I just got mine from Amazon and the USPS didn't even have time to track the DC)

3) Months of your time back as you wont be stuck waiting for an eternity for the latest hit game.

Not a bad deal I'd say, doubly so for a game like UC2.

so you think the price point should be 4800 for UC2? Pizza

Pizza guys are getting worse and worse looking. I guess all the good ones went into porn.

Hell, it could be 10k G-points for all I care.  It was worth a cash pre-order for me, a rarity.

Eh, I personally disagree.   I have 2400 points I could easily spare, didn't preorder, and opted to purchase the game with cash instead.    It's not worth 2400 points no matter how good it is because I can turn 2400 points into well more than $60.

Yeah that works IF you have an extra 60 dollars to actually spend on the video game instead of other HIGH PRIORITY events in life (BILLS) but if you dont have that 60 dollars cash this is convenient way for that person to enjoy a new release brand new right away

I'll even Amen that!  I would not ask nor would I want a bartering system on Goozex.  I'm just asking in general if people would feel that they got a good deal if they gave me 4 600pt games and I gave them Uncharted 2?  I just think that it seems more acceptable because its being done through a middleman than if it was done one on one.  I just personally think its an unfair trade all around.

Think what you want, but it is a COMPLETELY OPTIONAL feature of the site, if you think it is unfair don't use it; other users may not share your viewpoint.  And if you were to trade those 4 600 pt games in store, theres still a chance you might not net enough to cover the game

It is what it is, I know.  I was just really hoping I didnt have to view it as some optional service.  I wanted it to be an integral part of my dealings with Goozex, even with the restricted usage in place.

If you plan things out a little in advance it can work either way.    If you know you want a couple of games in the fall/holiday lineup and want them at release you start turning the points into cash prior to those releases.    If you're hurting for cash that badly, I don't see how accepting less than full value for your points helps you.

I completely agree with DrJ.  I am planning on getting assassins creed 2 and MW2 when they come out.  So I have started ordering some 100-200 point games that are worth $10-20 each and have been selling them to save up for the games I want.  In the end it will probably cost me 1600pts for the two games and since I buy trade credits in bulk that means only about $6-8 worth of tokens.  So if you are willing to use amazon and ebay to sell some stuff you can easily get 3 brand new games for 2400pts.

Correct.  I'm only 24 with all the wonderful bills one can muster, including a mortgage, utilities, insurance and all sorts of other odds and ends.  And that's not including the fact I don't have years of raises under my belt yet!

Still, I have my finances laid out in such a way that I can afford all the bills and allow myself some discretionary money each week, so I seldom have a problem.  I don't tend to buy releases often, opting to wait on Goozex instead, but I can afford the occassional title here and there.  It certainly wont break the bank.

Now, if my wife were running the finances...........

I would personally rather enjoy my points(AKA Moon Money) when I am alive then have them dance off to obscurity when I am less than alive / too old to be able to play games anymore.  Life is to short to worry about me working the system to get the best deal and trading and selling for cash.  I have Uncharted 2 coming and I did not touch my physical or mythilogical (AKA credit) money.

I apologize in advance for the snark...Geeked

the point i was trying to make is:

with my current situation i don't have 60 dollars to spend on a video game.  I need the money for other things. But i do however have over 2400 points.  So right now it makes more sense for me to use those points to get uncharted 2 if it means i don't have to spend the 60 dollars in the store when i really shouldn't.  Now i dont have to and still get the game i want.
