it has nothing to do with how fast your speed is. Your best  bet is have Goozex open well before you are going to request. I make sure Goozex page is loaded prior to going to bed, so I don't have to fight the hundreds of others doing the same.

Nitro,

I had the game in my Watch List and had the page opened. But clicking "Add to requests" wouldn't do anything without refreshing the webpage. Even the main page for the game doesn't get the "Add to requests" option until its past midnight... in either case, we will have to fight off on lagging servers with other users.

Use the Future releases page. :P

What time zone does the website flip the date for new releases? Is it Pacific?

G-Nitro,

It doesn't matter how attentive you are to the time, you are basically lucky depending on your internet connection. I'm always ready minutes before the release date and when the site hangs, you're pretty much hoping you get in there quick. As an example, when the release hour hits, you have to refresh for the Add Request to pop up, and that's when the site no longer works. You just hope the next moment it refreshes that you can click it. I had to wait ten minutes for my page to load for Uncharted 2 and still got 108th place. However there aren't too many big games like Uncharted 2.. just giving an example.

On a different note, I did some tests and I noticed there are more beneficial ways to click on game requests faster than the watch list. I'm assuming that everyone's watch list is huge. Therefore, if you take the game off from the watch list minutes before the release, and then go to the game's own page -- THAT page will load faster than your watch list because your watch list will be a bigger page to load all the information than just one game.

If you have multiple games to activate on release, just make each game page a new tab within your browser. I found that more just a liiiittle effective even if the site doesn't load quickly.

As of right now, I was thinking of different ways bigger game releases could work, but since it is essentially first come first serve, I found this is the only way unless the site does do something about connection overload.

For those that are using Firefox browser, you might be able to mess with the site layout and just making it a text-only page so your page doesn't have to refresh with all the pictures and code. Just text only with hyperlinks and poof, no wait time. I have to test that out.

I did the same thing last night for Fallout 3 game of the year addition last night and the servers were pretty slow. Finally was able to hit the request button about 4 minutes after and got 22nd in line. Not bad.

I am in mountain time and I am pretty sure the release time is 12 am as well not 11 pm.

A Little Hint (cause I feel bad for people who get 20000th in line):

If pages don't load use the direct link to the game add. Go to browser paste in the link to the game ADD and yer done.

No this is not automated. It's just easier then using the ADD button since that page has a hard time loading.

Mods I feel this post does not violate the "No bots" rule since it's not a bot. But if you want it axed then axe it.

Well unless you dont really live in MST the time for you to request new games would be 11pm.  Sleebs was correct with the times he stated for new games being released.  If games arent available to be requested in your area until 12am that would mean you are actually in the central time zone.

Wouldn't be such long lines if people actually bought some of these new releases. 300+ requesting and possibly 5 have it. >_>

I think, that will eventually happen as days go by. I have moved up about 30 positions for Uncharted 2 since adding it at release... People are either buying it from another source or just giving up hope on the long lines. I was in line for Batman: AA as well but took myself out after waiting a week and got the game from Ebay.

It's only gonna get worse as more people join this site.  I remember getting 9th on Street Fighter 4, back in February, just by going to the page and refreshing it until the Add to Requests button lit up.  I just tried to get Borderlands by doing the same thing and it took 10 minutes to refresh, by then I was 129th in line.
