So i went to the post office to mail a game out today and, whoops! They're closed! I'm all like WTF? Then I see the sign, "Closed for Columbus day". Don't ya just hate these holidays that we don't really celebrate except for stopping the mail and closing the banks...

Same thing happened to me. I went to send ODST back to Gamefly and saw the office door closed and saw the "Closed October 12th Columbis Day" sign. Thank god I was able to drop it off in the mail box outside. Been a long ass time since I used an actual mail box. For some reason I thought a gremlin was going to take my hand off like in the first Gremlins movie.

Columbus Day has been a federal holiday since 1934, and I certainly appreciate the day off.  Although credit should go to where it is deserved, as it was the Vikings who discovered North America 500 years before the southern Europeans stumbled upon it... Wink

Or an American Indian day, since they were the first ones there anyway.

I didn't have anything to send out, but I kept checking to see if the mail came like a dummy. I was perplexed and wondered why nothing came. I told my boyfriend about this and he informed me it was a holiday. I totally forgot today was Columbus Day! XP

Yeah, I marked 2 games as mail in one day, plus sending a game to goozex to test it, and the PO was closed.  Doh.

It seems to me that the system should automatically skip Sundays and Holidays for mailing dates (adjusted by region of course). For example, if I'm in the United States on Saturday, October 10 and I put "Item will ship in one day" the date for shipped should be set to October 14 (after Monday's holiday), not October 11 as it is today.

Mmmm turkey.  I love thanksgiving weekend, so much turkey and stuffing and mashed potatoes.  Its the best when you get more than one thanksgiving meal and you dont even have to cook.  Speaking of turkey I think I might have a turkey sandwich.  Sucks to be American since you have to wait for your thanksgiving Stick out tongue
