You know, it's actually not really that bad to get a shot or blood drawn. However, I think it really depends on the person administering it. My real fear is that someone who is not trained well enough will poke me in the wrong place or will mess up somehow. That and the fact that something sharp is being inserted into my body. I'm a little uneasy around sharp knives as well....actually I cut myself a few days ago while washing a sharp knife and it freaked me out a little. I was pouring practically half a bottle of peroxide on it! (It wasn't even that big or deep, I was just overreacting!) Just writing about it makes me queasy. :(

lol appears MD will hold you at gunpoint if you refuse some shots though, legally or otherwise.  There was an article about it a while back where parents were threatened with jailtime, herded into a courtroom at gunpoint with attack dogs handy, to administer shots they had objected to, to their children.

Cool!

Good one, but the economic crash wasn't "staged" just ask any of the 10% unemployed here in CA.  Also Obama did not "stage" the crash, it started (acute) under Bush.  But the real "start" was under Nixon w/ his China policy, every president since Nixon has supported the same ideas that have led to the "crash"

Vaccines are not mandatory, and only SOME pharma companies make good cash off them.  It's not like Haliburton because it has nothing to do with no bid contracts.

Obama is not in favor of any "human microchip agenda"... although I am.  Anyone w/ a violent felony should get chipped for the next 15 years IMO.

You realize "pro-biotics" is a fancy word for pond scum?  Buying pro-biotics is paying for someone to put pond scum in a bottle for you.

I should have prefaced my last post with, "at the risk of sounding like a crazy person, etc."

I'll agree with you about Nixon. NAFTA can also be to blame. The unemployment rate is the response to the fact that consumers aren't spending.  But Bush, Obama, Nixon, they're all the same. They're not pulling the strings and they didn't stage the crash. Now from my narrow perspective, it seems to me that the Fed didn't do its job in regulating the credit and the housing market that created the bubble.  Too little too late. Credit was cheap and it made people think they could spend beyond their means.  So Bush and Obama come out with these grandiose recovery plans that amounted to printing a bunch of money out of thin air and giving the Fed more power and rewarding bad behavior! The answer seems to be to end the Fed. Also, and this is just a theory, but I think that the economic crash was a staged hit by the international banking cartel and the G20 countries to devalue the dollar and push the one world currency agenda.  I didn't get that from Alex Jones, I got it from Reuters.

I don't want to butt heads with you, but I come from another school of thought about pro-biotics.  You realize that you're supposed to have a cultures in your GI tract that help you metabolize food properly. Any surplus you gain from pro-biotics gets converted into white blood cells.

Knocking out an infection with a course of anti-bios makes you more susceptible to infections and you gotta rebuild your pro-biotic ecosystem from scratch.

I think it goes without saying... *nom nom nom*

Dino-biotics... That's where the real health benefits are hiding!

I prefer to prevent illness rather than getting treated after I fall ill.

Big pharma hates that because they don't make money.

Which is why American health care fails.

Well, I actually agree with all of that, so I don't see any head butting.

I guess I should have specified about "pro biotics" in terms of which products.  In the 90s there was a big cash scam for "natural blue-green algae" product being sold in an "Avon Lady" type of way.  That's what I thought you meant.

But if you mean just eating yogurt and natural foods, I'm already all about that.  I don't get a lot of infections and I don't get sick much so I think my GI is doing ok as is.  Except when I eat too much mexican food.

The unemployment rate however is not really a direct result of consumer spending, it's as you mentioned part of the larger cover up w/ the "economic indicator" measurements, all of which have been manipulated since the 1960s to show "growth" at all costs.

For instance unemployment in CA ranks at 10% but that is ONLY people ACTIVELY geting UE benefits.  If your bennies ran out, they no longer count you.  Or if you job went from 35hrs / week to 5 hours a week, you are not counted either.

The "real" unemployment rate in CA IMO is more like 15-20%

Well I'd say yes and no.  "Big Pharma' is a very large generalization.  Some pharma companies actually have prevention as the main product.  It varies wildly by company.

I'm a big baby when it comes to needles.  I almost always end up passing out and embarrassing myself.  Not worth it; my pride is too important to me. Stick out tongue

You sound a lot like my fiancee, who til this day has to get nurses to use the baby needles Indifferent

Story:

Mrs. BFZ has a terrific fear of needles.

Once she had to get blood taken for a new health insurance her job was offering.

When we went to the doctors to get blood drawn, I went (natch) to be supportive. Sitting in the chair, she filled out the paperwork while the assistant got the needle ready.  When it was time, she went white as a ghost, grabbed my hand and showed her true hulk like strength.

She also diverted her gaze and looked directly at me.  The assistant stood there and hesitated, I asked "whats wrong? get it over with, she's killing me!!" The assistant looked at me and said, "I'm not getting anywhere near her till she puts that pen down."

Turns out she was wielding that pen like a knife in her other hand.  So, moral of the story is that she doesn't do needles...

Oh, and I'm not getting the shot either, never gotten the shot, never had the flu.

I like it!

Story: Back in High School our school was big on blood drives.  But being into HS sports I used to get sick from other team mates who would practice while sick so I typically would get turned down because I'd have a bug recently..

So this one kid is acting all bad ass as a goof.  He is getting his blood drained so he starts flexing his bicep all hulk hogan style, the needle pops out and blood goes squirting across the room, he gets woozy passes out and falls off the bunk onto the gym floor.

I was reading a bit of this thread and killmak was saying that the flu shots are not "live" anymore. I was under the impression that the FluMist nasal spray flu "shots" are "live".
