If my post office was open during normal human being customer hours I would probably consider shipping to Canada.  I'm at work when they open and STILL at work when they close, I'm not sure how regular people with FULL TIME jobs are supposed to get to this place.  8:30am to 4:30pm isn't exactly convenient when you work during those hours and you're a good 20 minutes away from it.  Heck, the BANKS in my area have better hours.  If not for the terrible postal hours I'd most likely have my trade region open to Canada.

Yeah the dispute was escallated to Goozex. But maybe I'll go ahead and email them again to see if maybe it was just a fluke. Until then, I had had no problems shipping to Canada, and for some reason it seems that the games I get from Canadians are generally in better shape than the games I get elsewhere.

The Goozex Feedback decisions have been less than desirable lately. I would definitely PM Black Coyote or NInjaJ about this, as they have stated in the past that the customs form # was sufficient for proof of shipping.

Dig up the Goozex Guarantee as well.  You've done everything the site asks you to.

An American user sent me a game that sat in Pennsylvania for 4 weeks before it actually made it's way north of the border.  I left negative feedback, he provided the Customs # and got the negative reversed.  Not a big deal because I did eventually get the game, but Goozex stated in their resolution that they honour Customs #'s as DC.

Now I only request from them not offer them, their like my sloppy seconds :)

Reminder to self:  Never accept a trade to xBuTcHeRx.

I have no problem with people choosing not to trade with Canada (although it's better for me when people DO choose to include us) but abusing the system to look for one-way trades is lame and annoying.

Save your sales receipt, and save the Customs Number.  You can enter the Customs Number on the USPS website to confirm acceptance.  It usually doesn't track beyond that initial information, but it's proof you sent something.

The only reason I'd recommend removing Canada as a trading region is if it's infeasible for you to get to the Post Office during business hours, or if you send out a lot of big packages (games with accessories, limited editions, etc.).  Otherwise, the cost difference is negligible (or nonexistent in many cases, since there's no Delivery Confirmation to pay for).

You can also buy a package of Customs forms for free from the USPS website to save a little time:

The PG version of my thoughts on the matter.

Why can it be as simple as the US and vice-versa.

I'd say half the games I've sent so far were to Canada, and I've never had a problem.  But every time they stick that green customs form on there, I have the urge to cover it with mailing tape...just in case. haha  Tongue Tied

It's kinda lazy saying I ain't walking X amount of blocks to go to the post office. Are you telling me that in, say, a 3 day delay you are not going to pass at all by a post office? Unless you work from home, in the fields or in the kind of small town with only one post office (then again, it would be small enough for you to go then, that is unlikely, no matter where you are.

As many will tell you, its not laziness that is the problem.  Not everyone lives in a nice small town where you can get to the post office in 5 minutes.  I live in the second largest city in Maryland, my post office is appx. 7 miles away.  Not far right?  As the crow flies, sure!

I would have to plan on at least a 20 min drive to get through traffic.  Not to mention the horrendous lines, and the restrictive hours of operation.  I'm at work 5-6 days a week, mon-fri I'm at work before the P.O opens, and I get home well after they close.

And Saturday? A 1:00pm closing time?  I'm sorry, but thats not my top priority on a Saturday if I'm not working.

The convenience of being able to ready a package at home at night or in the morning before I go to work, walk outside and drop it in the mailbox is a Godsend.

I'm willing to go out of my way to send a game or movie to a fellow goozer, but I'm not if it takes up an hour of my day or costs me more in gas then it does to send the game.

If anyone has a good way to ship to Canada online I'm all ears!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who feels the post office has the most useless and inconvenient hours possible.
