Its not like Goozex is taking your points and using them to buy stuff at Best Buy or something.  They buy the games and trade them to you for points that are worthless to them. Thats hardly gouging.

Its a convenience to some, and worthless to others. You cant please everyone.

Bottom line, they are your points. You don't have to use them. But I think its nice to at least have the OPTION!

I think the system is good for the folks that have 30000+ points, so they can go and get new games, and eventually pump them into the system.

But for me, with only 8000, spending 2400 is not a good option, unless it's for a game that I plan on keeping for a long time.  And if this is the case, it kind of defeats the purpose, because i'm not adding games into the system.

For the selection, they are overpriced. If they have offered new releases or soon to release titles many of us would not have a problem shelling out 2000 - 2500 for those games. If Borderland or Dragon Age: Origins were in the exchange, I would not have a problem with spending 2000 on them, 2500 would be pushing it for me to spend on either game. Just my 2 cents.

I don't see myself ever using the Exchange, but that's me honestly. I've had about nearly 25% of my Goozex requests coming in the mail as new, anyway. I'm not that annoyed with mint condition copies either. :)

Sure, the Exchange can be for those that just want it new to begin with. But if they want to do that, they might as well go to the store to get it. Goozex is here for trading, and I don't think it should evolve into anything more than that. I don't mind the new developments of the site, but it's primarily here to save money.

The argument here is that I can sell 4 PS2 games for roughly 250 points each and get a newly released game. That's how I brought tons of friends onto this site, not the other way around. So if you like the Exchange, that's your business. But I'm here to save and deal with perfect, mint conditions for half the Exchange price.

Worthless to them, but they originally sold them to someone for $5 each, plus made $1 every time they changed hands. And regardless of whether whoever earned them from trading 1000 or 100 point games, those 2200 points they're charging for Fight Night Round 4 eventually can be traced back to someone paying $110. For a $60 dollar game that's several months old. That's a lot of overhead.

Wrong my friend.  They did not spend 110 dollars on Fight Night Round 4. They spent 110 dollars on games that they played, beat, or otherwise finished. That is the end of the transaction. The value of that game to the person is now nothing. By trading it on Goozex they have now turned the value into points which are worth something again. Really the only costs incurred by Goozex is the 1 dollar trade token and shipping.

If someone traded 5 games in order to get 2400 points at 3 dollars shipping a piece, it would cost them 15 dollars. 15 dollars for a brand new game is a good deal.

Of course if the person is purchasing points this is a moot argument, but I never buy points so that does not apply to me.
