I installed the game and the 2 free DLCS.. amazon just sent me the codes for the additional 2 free DLCs... gotta love free DLC

I just got 22.99 for the Lion's Paw Boots on ebay.   :)    Between that and the $10 off, I'm at like $30 spent on the game.   Still not sure what I'm going to do with the memory band, those are only going for like $6 right now.

Proof that there really IS a sucker born every minute.  I wonder what's it like to have so much disposable income that you don't even think twice about dropping what is essentially a DS title on an in-game item that will be obsolete in no time.

No doubt.    I've started doing this with all games I know are going to most likely get good reviews and offer pre orders once I realized people were paying $30 or more for the Reaper Home costume you got for preordering inFamous.   I foolishly squandered that one before realizing, but now I just bend people over for whatever crap they throw in and get my game costs down big time.    I only got $17 for the Demon's Souls artbook and CD, but hey that's a decent chunk off the game price.

It also looks like I may have underpriced the boots to get them to move quickly.    Dude whose listing I ganked actually started out with 5 sets.     He sold first 2 at 5.99 a piece.    Then marked them up to 17.99 and sold a 3rd set.    He was up to 24.99 when I made my listing, so I just tried to go a tad under to move mine.    He got 24.99 shortly after mine went, and now has his final set up for 29.99.   Since it's the only remaining set I see anywhere on ebay, I bet he gets it.   Oh well, at least I'm not kicking myself over getting 5.99 for a couple pairs like that guy probably is.

Gotta love EA. Can't put the DLC that's available at release on the damn disc!! Makes trading games less desirable since you can't get these items when you get it here on goozex or at GS/ebay, etc. Foreboding what the future holds... 100% DL-only games.

Hadn't considered that aspect of it.    Makes the purchase of the game that much more worthwhile, because they want $15 for the Golem DLC that's being packaged with it.    That code also expires in April, so they're trying to push you to buy this early.

What's the deal with the Blood Armor one?   Are there additional quests with that one or is it just an item that will be obsoleted?     I'm almost tempted to drop the $7 on the one that gives you a chest to store stuff in since I bent someone over for these stupid boots.    I personally agree that this practice sucks, but thankfully I'm in a position that I don't have to complain this time around.  :)

Wow, that's a good score.  LP Boots are n00b gear it seems, I love having them on my level 2 toon, but 22.99 for a single player item??? Crazy

Dragon Blood armor is both.  You get 1 piece to start, and a quest for the rest.  My toon is too low level to equip.  14.99 for the Golem (free for early adopters) seems like highway robbery

I love the voice acting and characters so far, but as usual w/ Bioware, too many dudes trying to scam on my female toon.  I made a female for GIRL ON GIRL not for Nathan Drake clones scamming on me ;)

According to the Strat Guide, Morrigan will only be with guys, so they say dont bother with a female character. That really drove me nuts. lol  I only play as females in games that allow me to

So, when I get my ps3 copy from amazon, which shipped on the 3rd, but tracking says it isn't expected to get here until the 16th, can I use my ps3 preorder items on my pc game, or are they console exclusive?  I'll probably just end up selling all the codes off on ebay (I already used my blood armor and stuff that came with my pc CE) and selling the game itself on craigslist or just goozing it out once I've gotten all the value out of the codes/items.

They just say that - there will be a USPS delivery confirmation number with it and you can do a little tracking yourself there and see where it shipped from and get an idea as to when it'lll get to you.    Mine had a late date and made it here yesterday.

I just got the chance to finally sit down and play this for a while, and I have to say it's a lot better than I thought it would be based on my first 5 minute impression. I am not a fan at all of real-time-with-pause combat, but I am still enjoying this. The thing that struck me the most though was the different camera angles: the difference between regular third person and way overhead view is astounding. It feels like a totally different game.

Anyway, I haven't played too far, just about 2 hours or so and I was wondering: I chose a human noble warrior (er, I think it was) and I was considering starting over as a mage or a rogue, are magic and thief stuff really useful in this or am I not missing anything?

Magic is huge, but a "warrior" is just a starting class, you can branch out later, and since you can switch characters at any time, you will have a mage in your group.

Same deal w/ a rogue, you will have one in your group or as a choice to be in your group, and rogues are 100% needed for locked chests.

They really allow you to pick any class you want, as any other class you need will eventually show up to be in your party if you choose.

It was easier in Baldur's Gate tho since you could have a full traditional 6 person party.  I liked to roll w/ 2 tanks, 2 mages, 1 rogue, 1 cleric.   2 tanks could be overkill but  I was a DD tank, dual wielding.

At higher levels in BG I would use a summoning druid, summoning mage, cleric for the romance, 1 tank, 1 rogue.  I would spam summoned pets at dangerous mobs and tank w/ my PC.

Have you played Baldur's Gate I and II on the PC or KOTOR?  Most of Bioware games are like this

Actually from Bioware the only games I've played are Jade Empire and Mass Effect, both of which I liked but I never finished either. I'm actually trying hard to like this game (as a starved console RPG gamer) but I think this one is going to be short lived in my library.

I've never been a fan of games that tie-in close D&D style gaming; meaning low level caps and restrictive and limited abilities. I like variety, a lot of it and this game is very particular about a lot of things. I like the origins idea, i like each character getting their own beginning and characters interacting differently with you dependant on your racial choice, but I like a lot more in terms of character individuality.

Graphics, which seem to be a big problem for a lot of people, are not all that bad to me. They look fine. The sound quality is great too, with a nice musical score and great voice acting. From what I seen all the voices fit the face and look of the characters they are assigned to which is a big plus since some games (Batman Arkham Asylum) have some horrible voices for the look of their characters.

The gameplay itself has grown on me. I have a much better idea of combat and such, but the limitations of what the end-game will bring doesn't seem worth the time for me.

Batman AA had bad voice acting????? Does not compute.

I'm not sure what you mean about "low level caps" and limited abilities?  do you mean class based RPG?  What type of RPGs do you usually like.  If you didn't finish Jade Empire, yes I doubt you'll want to finish DAO either, very similar games.  Ditto for KOTOR

I'm actually finding DAO while BG2 came out long before Summoner and Summoner 2, But S and S2 borrowed a lot of BG2 gameplay, but put in in 3D

Now that I'm playing DAO, the "feel" of the game is very Summoner 1/Summoner 2 mash up.  Which to me is good, but odd, I have to believe that Bioware is at least familiar w/ those games because the level layout, even the whole "now you get separated from your party and enter the "Dream" trope" is very Summoner 2 plot.  Sure there are a lot of games that have that trope, but Summoner 2 and the whole morphing into Demons... is exactly the same in DAO (5 years later)
