Just wanted to come a show my support for this program.

Been looking at Uncharted 2 this morning debating whether or not to commit 2400 points. I'm pretty close to getting DiRT2 and NFS but if I got Uncharted 2 then I'd be losing a lot of those points. It's tempting though and considering I promised myself I'd only buy 3 games this holiday season, it's a nice loop hole since I'm not buying it. I'm trading for it.

Is there a list of all items in the exchange program?

thanks

Mark-

Wow, Uncharted 2 for 2,400 points?  I too am tempted, but can't shake the feeling that I'd be giving up too many points for it.  I currently have 2,800 points, but it took 4 games to build that many points up (LBP, Bioshock, GTA: CW, & Resistance 1), and I’d be trading them for one.  Any opinions on whether or not I should go for it?  Right now I’m 168th in line to get it from Goozex, but I think with the awesome multiplayer the game has, not too many people are gonna play through once and then trade it.  It could be months before I get it.  What to do, what to do?!

If you traded those four into Gamestop you would only be able to get one game. I say go for it,when you are done you will be able to trade it back out and recoup some of them points.

I would say your looking at about a 2 month wait if my experience with Infamous is anything to go by. I was somewhere around 200 in the queue for that game and it took just over 2 months for me to be paired up. 2400 points is a lot to blow for one game. I find it hard not to look at it like $120.

That's exactly how I look at it!  I mean, I know I'm not taking actual cash out of my pocket, but I could easily get 3 decent games now with my points and just wait for my turn to get it for 1,000 points later.  The only problem is, I want to play this game right now.....

Has anyone else jumped at this deal?  Or plans to when they have the points?

You do realize it's a PS3 game, right?! Wink I kid, I kid!  But seriously, not everyone is into multiplayer.  I think it will still trade pretty quickly.

If I had bought it, I would trade it after the SP as I could give a hoot about MP on PS3.

Yeah, I know it's a PS3 game, but I just think that after seeing so many people play the demo, and seeing how good it was, that this game will finally have some staying power with the multiplayer crowd.  I think what I'll do is check my place in line after a couple weeks or so, and see how it's moving.  If it hasn't gone far, I'll bite.

Don't get me wrong, it is a good game. But until MW2, Batman is still my game of the year.

There is always the option of looking for some good games to flip off of Goozex to make up the $ to buy the game from a store.  There are many games that you can get off of Goozex that go for close to $5 per 100 points on ebay.  So you could potentially get some games that add up to say 1000-1500 points that you can resell after recieving them and use that cash to buy the game.  You would save yourself at least 1000 points doing it that way.

MW2 may consume all of my gaming time for the first 3 months after it's released.  What I played of Uncharted 2's MP was enjoyable...but i'm all too aware which i'll be playing once I have access to both.

I'm still flip-flopping on whether Batman: AA or InFamous was the most enjoyable single player game i've played this year.  I thought Batman was overhyped, until I finally got to play through it last week....and i'm still cleaning the stains out of my pants...  Embarrassed

I agree with the analogy that selling back games to Gamestop and its ilk is similar to buying through the Goozex Exchange from a cost persepctive.  I never saw Goozex as a solution to getting games on day one.  Goozex Exchange makes this possible in some cases, but the value of games that you have traded is roughly halved.

This isn't a perfect example since I haven't seen Brutal Legend on the Exchange, but I'd assume an initial cost of 2400 points.  Gamestop has a barely palpable deal where I can trade in 2 games (worth 1200 points together here) for 40 bucks off the price.  If not for the specific deal, I'm sure that the two games would barely cover half the cost at Gamestop.

This is just my take and to each there own.

I used to do the whole Gamestop thing and trade in like 3 to 4 games just to get 1 new game, and was happy with that until I discovered Goozex.  It changed things from 3 to 4 games for 1 new game to 1 to 2 games for 1 new game.  I've saved tons of money so far, and am very thankful to Goozex for that, so I decided to take the plunge and just ordered Uncharted 2 for the 2,400 points.  I figure every once in a while I need to give up some extra points for the premium service of getting the game faster and in brand new condition (though I have been extremely lucky with the condition of games I get from members).  Anyway, thanks to all for your opinions/advice.

I do have a separate question that I haven't seen answered, or may have missed.  How does Goozex make any money off of the exchange program?  Aren't they just taking points that we earned from other members?  How does that benefit Goozex?
