I haven't read the entire thread (practically forgot Goozex had a forums!), so excuse me if my sentiment has already been expressed.
Yeah, the most recent batch of Goozex Exchange is not for me. Higher prices than the last one, with less exciting product. But it doesn't hinder the basic service I get out of Goozex. The first round of Goozex exchange wasn't for me either, even though it had AAA games that were just released or were about to be released. So maybe I'm not the right guy to criticize the servicce or the critics.
I just don't think people need to take it so personally, like Goozex is attacking them. I guess it's just status quo for voicing opinion on the interwebs to be as dramatic as possible. And people should voice their opinions, always, and Goozex has a strong history of listening to community feedback.
That's one of the reasons I feel like I can trust the service. Trust the Goozex service, not the exchange, or any other periphery offers. Goozex has gone out of their way to assist whenever I've been part of a trade that has gone sour, when it could have easily fallen through the cracks. If that ever changes I might consider finding a different route for financing my gaming addiction. But in the meantime, Goozex rocks, and while the new Exchange offer might not rock, it is just a periphery service.
I think it's great people are voicing their opinions, but the bloodletting is a little over the top. I think the over the top responses are even detrimental to some of the valid arguments. I stop listening to people when they're screaming at me, no matter how valid their points are.
vexingthoughts: Alright, before I start spouting off and looking like an idiot, let me make sure I understand how the exchange works. You want to buy game "X". Goozex deducts the requisite amount of Goozex points and then buys the game off Amazon using real money. Then the game gets shipped to the user. Is my understanding of things deficient in anyway? If not, how the hell can anyone accuse them of being greedy as they don't make any money off it?

Yup thats how it works. People are just mad because we got spoiled by the first two exchanges that were limited to 50 items and the new games were only 1600pts. Because of this people expect the points to be the same. It would be crazy of Goozex to offer new games for 1600pts now though because the exchange is not limited so they would proabably sell 1000+ games and it would not be fininacially worth it.
killmak: the exchange is not limited so they would proabably sell 1000+ games and it would not be fininacially worth it.

if they really wanted to keep it limited and make money, then they should have put in a friggin lottery system. "wanna buy a new game with your goozex points? we can't figure out how to make money if EVERYONE can do this*, so you pay 100 points to get a chance at it."
*pathetic. call me when you get your act together.

That's an interesting idea but how would Goozex be making money off this scenario? It still seems to suffer from the Exchange's underlying dilemma: Goozex points not being real money.

Yes, well it has been 4 months since my last post, so my joke isn't too terribly sarcastic.
Lottery system wouldn't work because you have to have a license for gambling. If there's no license and gambling is going on...oh man, a few phone calls and this site will be down for the rest of the "natural online life" (TM).
To put this short and VERY sweet - FORGET ABOUT LOTTO SYSTEM.
We have to start a petition to bring down costs of items.
This guys taken enough shit. Though if find this completely true, its time to give it a rest.

i don't even know how that works with their stated aim of having every game on goozex available on the exchange. the point value system is murky as HELL.
look, i really admire the goozex team for even coming up with the exchange system. they saw a problem, and they're trying to fix it. i just sometimes wish that i was joining 3 years from now, when they've ironed out all the kinks.
I feel genuinely insulted by these prices even 1600 was ehhhhh kinda bad unless you were desperate, I plan on using my stocked points/tokens during this holiday season and leaving before they jack up prices on the normal trading somehow.

the original thread stated all point or all cash or a combo. guess what thats not an option, and im not saying everyone would use it that way but some would. i wouldnt mind paying oh lets say 20% of the point price with real money, i was already planning to. im sure most would prefer that to lousy selection and point extortion
Point extortion? I didn't see them threaten you to use the Exchange. The prices and selection are definitely laughable, but can easily be remedied in the upcoming months. The Exchange may be a disappointment, but stop acting like Goozex just killed your dog or something.
that defeats the purpose of launching it now.
well exept for getting as many suckers as they can
lol. While we're all in agreeance that this is a terrible launch, I find it hilarious that there are a select few judging the Goozex trading service as a whole under this Exchange umbrella, as if the service was to make or break the utility of Goozex as a whole. "Oh, I'm totally leaving once my points are gone!" Please. Goozex is and for the foreseeable future, will remain the best deal in gaming, and if you're going to jump ship over a crappy launch of an OPTIONAL BONUS FEATURE, your loss. Goozex will keep on truckin' forward.
TL:DR Version: We all know the new Exchange blows; no need to get your panties in a bunch at Goozex's proven service as a whole.
