my beef is how goozex auto closes trades, if you have alot of trades going on, you can't keep track of all your trades and you don't get the game and your out of luck

i consistently have 20 items coming in at once and I never lose track of trades. I stay up to date on my trades and pay attention to the Goozex e-mails that say "Your trade will expire in XX days". Mayeb you should check your e-mails more often

Yeah, a major problem on the site is people's lack of checking emails.  Mainly with private messages.  I wish goozex had a notification on the front page that showed you had unread messages instead of relying on email only.  Most people check their email once a week it seems like and never see they have messages.  In fact, looking at my sent box right now on here, half of the first page is still unread, and some of those messages are from 2 to 3 months ago, from active users.

I read them in my email when I receive them therefore it doesn't mark them as read when I click it that way. If it doesn't need a reply then it just sits there.

Seconded!  This majorly bothers me.  Seeing as the site is P2P (heh), you'd think a better system for communication would be implemented.  

The way it is now is fine for me, because I tend to check my e-mail, and even my inbox here, pretty frequently.  But not everyone is as obsessive about that sort of thing as I am, and I understand that.  Furthermore, many people are still pretty novice at web-browsing in general (as shocking to me as that still is)...

In any case, I think a better alert/notification system ought to be put in place regarding PMs.  I can't imagine that would really be all that hard to do, either...

That's fine and dandy and all, but most of my PMs are in terms of people not shipping out games and me having to leave negative feedback or important questions about trades.  If I can't tell you read that, then how am I suppose to take whatever action needed to do that.  Plus that means you have an inbox full of unread messages.  It would be easier to make the messages readable only through the site and have a notification at the top near where your trade points and tokens are saying that you have new messages, or so many unread, and then send out a email notification just saying you have a message.

Maybe they could make the red font notification bigger on the 'My Goozex' page?

I'd personally like to see the date the trade is scheduled to close for all of my active trades (both offers and requests).

How about having it to where if you are logged in, it automatically takes you to "My Goozex" page.  I personally never go to that page cause it doesn't take me to it automatically.  I either go straight to the forums, or to my requests or offers tab.

You make it sound like there will never be a full package copy available ever again.  Put your request on full package and wait for one.  Don't accept disc only if that is not what you want. 

As for notifications, if people aren't reading their messages, there is no way to force them to do it.  At GameTZ, we added a bright "NEW" icon on the menu bar when people have new messages.  This is on top of e-mail notifications.  People still manage to miss things, and then complain about it when it is too late.  You could make a flashing flaming logo saying "READ THIS" and it wouldn't help if people are just lousy at keeping up with their messages.

Not really...If you get a notification to leave feedback and you don't have the game yet, leave a negative. If a game conmes in the mail, test it and leave apropriate feedback. It's not that hard.

This is true, but why not take any and all steps available to make sure people are reading important messages?  Like the other poster, I mainly PM regarding trades.  I tend to think that takes a bit of precedence over personal conversation, or whatever.  I don't much like the idea that it's my reputation and points that are at stake because someone else is negligent about checking their e-mail. 

I mean, at the very least, if there WERE a 'flashing flaming logo saying "READ THIS"', I feel like it leaves less room for excuses on behalf of the recipient.  *Shrug*

But I'll stop whining now.  =P

Yeah, theres no way to force it.  Best thing I can think of is at the top of the page on the goozex site where it says My Messages, if it could change color and possibly have the number of unread messages that would be a huge help.  And possibly make it known about the perferences page that cheeze posted to change the first page to My Goozex.  I've been here 2 years now and didn't know that.

How in the hell do you play them all? WTF? Do you have a watch that stops time all together except you and your gaming consoles? Where do you get the time?
