These SERIOUSLY need to go. The last one I got (and I've gotten quite a few now) didn't even have a "continue to site" button, nor would the browser go back. I had to shut down the browser and reload. As for the browser: IE8 with built-in pop-up blocker.

Interestingly, I have the active button, but not the My Discussions button.

To quickly answer about the active menu bar -- yes, we removed it on the site to help speed up the forums a little. We figured since we already have a link in the menu bar on the left under "Forum Shortcuts" it could be one of those things we could remove that wouldn't really affect your forum experience, but would help speed up the forums.
Please start a start a separate thread if you would like to see this returned and keep this one on topic about the pop up ads. Except for a couple of strange cases where members have seen multiple pop-ups, and a review of the "exit" button on the ad -- the sense is that the ad is not that detrimental to your forum experience.

This morning and yesterday I actually had the ads send me to a new site which then told me to Click Continue. Only way out of it was to back up. That is a pain in the arse.

OK, i just got a popup. This is the first i've ever gotten with firefox plus adblocker. WTF GOOZEX! I know for a fact that the individuals running this site are doing well for themselves, without the pop up ads. Whats with these bogus ads messing with my experience?
So now its getting a little bizzare. I speak the honest truth when I say, that these pop up adds seem to be following Cheez. I only get them leaving, or navigating in a thread that he either started or has posted in. Hmmmmmmmmmmm

A side question, since EVERYONE knows that EVERYONE hates pop up ads, and they don't work. Why are web based companies still selling pop up ad space? Is the rate that much better than banner ads?
Why would a company PAY to have something that does nothing but annoy potential customers?
I was not having any problem before with pop up ads. (the full page pop up ads only occurred for me once every other day or so) but the new "Mountain Mud Stains" ad that arises out of the upper ad banner and covers half the screen for a few seconds until the animation sucks it all back into the banner is pretty annoying. If you're going to be an ad banner, STAY INSIDE the banner.
