lessthanjizzle: Kenny007: acsguitar: Kenny007: I got screwed with this game purchase! I wanted to be in the hip cool crowd getting this Halo OCD game, so I picked mine up promptly at midnight. Put it in my PS3 and it won't load! Took it back before they closed for the night, got another copy; it too doesn't work! I'm waiting for a reply from tech support because this is BS! Hmm did you try putting some tape on the disc to make it balance Funny that you mention it, as the tech support guy said to try and balance it too. I took a standard scale and balanced it against all the games I knew worked, and it lost every time; it was too light! Must have been incompatible with my PS3 in it's current form (I only have software BC support, not hardware), so I did put some duct tape on it and told my little brother to test it while I was at work today, but only after he rewinded it (I wanted to start from the beginning of the game). I can't wait to catch up with my Halo. I'm pretty confident the disc fix worked. I'd say so!..Also, make sure you try blowing through the center hole of the disc for ten or so minutes. It brings an equillibrium to the disc that makes it relaxed enough to work.

I cannot believe I forgot to blow on it! It worked well for NES titles!

have you tried wrapping your PS3 in a blanket? I hear that solves the disc ring of not working dvd
Gary Johnson For President 2012!
I have a solution. My copy wouldn't work either so I tried it in my Wii and it works fine. No one's online though because apparently no one owns a Wii.
I'll give that a whirl tonite. Do you know how to pull up your Halo OCD friend code?

It is usually the mirror image of a Socom code.

And a thank you to you two lol. Gotta love trolling some forums of my people (gamers) and laughing my ass off. We're all such snarky bastards lol. Cheers to nostalgia.
On a side note, played through odst with the boys today and didn't like it that much. Doesn't hold up to killzone or call of duty any more.
I really enjoyed the firefight mode, sort of like gears horde or L4D survivor mode, but with halo NPC's who vary their behavior based on what level you are on (by what skulls are activated).
But imo, the open world city is pretty poorly thought out though. It's way too dark (yes, I know it's at night) to see anything and the visor mode makes it feel kind of fake. Just make it a NVG mode with enemy identification rather than silhouetting every palm tree leaf. The levels between this hub city are still a lot of fun though and worth it to play through.
And don't know if it was mentioned, but Best Buy reward zone members have a printable $10 giftcard with purchase if you can't make it to a Toys r Us.
Be sure to soak the disc thoroughly in mustard for a good three hours before playing next time.
Also, did anyone else noticed that the character voiced by Nathan Fillion looks exactly like Nathan Fillion. I thought that was cool.
I haven't play the game yet, but I hear they were trying to do something with the environment, what with a story that kind of evolves through collectibles like the audio tapes in Bioshock. I have heard several people say that playing this in coop with 3 other people constantly making dick jokes really breaks the atmosphere.I hear everybody saying that playing it solo first then going through in co-op would have been/was preferable.
I like this game and I'm playing through it co-op through the campaign. It can't hold a candle to the atmosphere and story of Bioshock. There's not all that much to be ruined by co-op chattering, but then the Halo story always seemed full of one liners and overacting to me.
Overall it's a good, albeit overpriced expansion pack that should have been DLC IMHO. I'll enjoy Firefight and the end all, be all Halo3 replacement disk for a long while.
(getting 450 Goozex points for H3 recently and the $20 Toys R Us gift card really eased the pain of buying it)

Yeah they did a really good job with his character. Tricia...not so much.
I liked the way they did the storyline. I played through the campaign on my own, cuz it's hard to get into a story when playing with other people. Starting co-op tonight. I agree the environment is too dark, and I haven't decided if I like the mask or not. I think they avoided nvg because it's COD's thing, but it would've been a better option, imo.
I also find the audio-logs annoying. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with the main storyline, or Halo in general, although I've only found 2/3's of them so I haven't finished that story. It just doesn't seem to add to the main storyline, which is what I would expect from collectible audio.
