So, then what is the better system? Changing the time just wouldn't work, as I pointed out already.

Just because you "pointed out already" that it wouldn't work, dosen't mean it won't.

The time could easily be moved back a few hours.

Worried about the game not being available for sale until 1am est?

One easy workaround would be to not let the actual trading begin until 1am est.

I am however still a proponent of the lottery.  But lets be realistic, moving back the time slot IS a fair option.

Man, I'll admit I get the advantageous pacific time but everyone needs to stop crying about staying up until 1am.

Guess what, sometimes, life isn't fair, and crying about it isn't the way to fix your problems. Man up and stay up until your time, Or do it in the morning. Oh no, you have to wait another month or two, obviously you're not hardcore enough to stay up a couple hours on one single day of a month, so how are you this much of a baby to cry about having to wait an extra month?

I've got a class every day at 7:30 in the morning, but one day of little sleep is just a trade off for quicker delivery. C'mon, gamers complaining about staying up; for shame!

Dude you are so hardcore it's unreal.  You also live in California, so your opinion is basically invalid. Thanks for trying though, and have fun with your 10 o'clock release time.  It's also a little easier when you're in college.  When I was in college 1 o'clock would be no problem for me, but now I'm older and have a job and can't really stay up that late.  I guess I'm not near as badass as you.

That stuff should stop already.  Every time someone from the west coast posts anything, you 'invalidate' their opinion, simply because they're on the west coast.  There are plenty of things the east coast gets earlier than us, because it's released or airs on the east coast first.  Here's one example of where it's advantageous to be 3 hours behind you, and you want to keep whining about it's not fair.

I don't care at all what time they do it.  However, some folks need to stop their complaining about 'Fair', because it's fair no matter what time it is.

It's not Fair you're interested in.  You want more to your liking.

If that's a time that the powers that be deem to be in the best interest of 'fairness', then I'm cool with it.

Sunday Night and Monday Night Football come to mind for me.  I don't really consider that an advantage.... Pizza

I wish i knew the release times about a month ago.  I stayed up till 11 (central) to get in line for DiRT 2 and at that time it didn't post so i went to bed.  Got up at 4 am to go to work and checked and it was there.  I ended up 34th in line.  NOT BAD.  I wanted to be higher in line but no big deal.  I will just be patient.  MNF is one of the things that is kinda cool because it starts at 7 or 8 and in cali people are just getting of work at kickoff time.  I think that it would be very cool that the 24 hours before a game released that it would have a way to put your name in a hopper and come whatever it lotteries the names but i also dont mind staying up till Midnight, (EVEN when i have to work at 5 AM) if the game i want i deam worth it.

The way i look at it is this.  LIFE IS NEVER FAIR FOR EVERYONE,  ADAPT AND OVERCOME.  If you really want something plan your way around the obsticals and it will come to pass.  the releast time system on here isn't really broke,  could it stand a tweeking,  MAYBE.  but how many games a year are you really willing to stay up and get higher in line for.  For me the answer is only about 2 a year.

I don't see why 10pm EDT wouldn't work.

I still think mods should get first in line. Devil
