I know this is off subject, but can anyone tell me why Michael Jordan never appeared in any basketball game????
I have always wondered and never got a answer.

After Windy City Chaos, it was decreed that Jordan could never be in a videogame again, ever.
Actually, he was in some older basketball games but I imagine that licensing his image and likeness is too costly.

I guess thats what I dont understand. What make him different than anyone else in the NBA? The licensing money goes to the NBA right? Each individual player doesnt get paid for appearing in a game do they?

Likenesses and whatnot are part of the NBA players association. Same with NFLPA and MLBPA.
I think the NBA has a players association that you would have to contract through, like the NFLPA right? They would have to handle any kind of likeness and name usage.

He's not playing anymore, so maybe the money wouldn't go to the NBA Player's Association? He was in NBA Live 2004, so I guess once he retired companies had to negotiate with him individually or something.
2k baseball is crap. I wish EA would have continued making MVP baseball, my favorite baseball game, I still play it. MVP is better than 2k9.
2K Sports has superior basketball and (had) superior football (untill EA monopolized the genre with the exclusive NFL license and started milking their fans dry because of it).
I cannot comment on MLB or NHL, but as far as NBA and NFL are concerned, I'll take 2K > EA any day.
He was never part of the NBAPA,or so i have read. If someone wanted to use him they would have to pay him and he wanted way to much cash. I think there where a few others as well.
Well I love 2k Sports games, even the Baseball games. They allways no matter what allways have the best presentation in there games.Their Basket Ball games are awesome. NBA Live games are clunky in the controls.
2K basketball games have been far superior to EA in pacing, detail, playbooks, etc. for years. I started on NBA LIve from EA since '97 but have chosen 2k since 2005. Since then I keep trying to back to EA but the same issues persist in gameplay and 2k keeps providing a superior experience.
Regading football, I still played my NFL 2k5 more last year than Madden 2009. It was just more fun.
