Seriously can we just get rid of this company. Maybe someon start one of those useless interweb petttitions.
Have any of their games got over a 70 on metacritic in the last 4 years? How dare they ruin my MLB baseball on the PC.
Gary Johnson For President 2012!
Ya there baseball games have not been to good in the past few years. But there basketball games are still good. I would like to see another company buy these guys or just sit back and wait for EA to get the baseball rights back. Thank God i have a ps3 and can play the Show.
The 2K basketball games are good; definitely superior to EA's offerings. For the other major pro sports EA wins, and The Show baseball titles are better than 2K's baseball stuff.
That said, I kind of like 2K's hockey games. All-Pro Football 2K8 was solid too, but they probably won't be making any more.
For me everything after NHL 2k4 has fallen short of the mark. As annoying as some of the EA problems are (glitches, freezing & crashing etc.) their games have been the top notch titles in my book. I'm playing EA NHL 10 right now and it is by far the best and most complete hockey experience I've ever had.
2K Sports owns EA with the NBA games. The NBA 2K series has been vastly better than the Live series over the years. And for the past two years, NBA 2K has just destroyed Live in sales.
2K has some other solid sport titles: Top Spin & MLB 2K. If EA hadn't monopolize the NFL and NCAA licenses, 2K Sports would definitely be making some noise in those fields. Come on, ESPN NFL 2K5 (developed by Visual Concepts which is now owned by 2K) is considered by many the greatest football game ever made up until this year's Madden. It has been 5 years and Madden still hasn't top NFL 2K5 in terms of presentation----and Madden has the next-gen systems to work with---now that's inexcusable!
thatsthrice: If EA hadn't monopolize the NFL
You do know that the NFL is the one to put the licence up for sale,EA just put up the higher bid. Anyone could have bid on it.

I don't really like there baseball games,EA was much better at baseball games than 2K. But Top Spin is ok.
If you're pissed off about 2K's MLB third party exclusive deal, you can blame EA and the No Fun League for that. EA threw the first punch and 2K had to do something to respond. At least if you don't like their baseball games you have an alternative option on the ps3. If you don't like EA's football games, you're completely screwed.
I have been playing ESPN NFL 2K5 for the past four years with the roster meticulously updated. I like Madden's gameplay but the presentation have been downright awful. Madden 10 have finally gotten it together and I have finally moved on. Oh NFL 2K10....what could have been.
Take-Two (owners of the 2K brand) actually offered the NFL more money than EA did, but the league chose EA because of better brand-name recognition, etc.

This is something i did not know. See you learn something everyday.
2k NBA and College Hoops games are fantastic!
Wow, I did not know that. Damn you NFL!!! Do what NBA is doing and have some competition between developers. Some feel that the Madden franchise has been laxidasical over the years. If NFL 2K would have still been in business, Madden would gotten it act together so much quicker and Madden 10 would have been so much better ---they still have glitches from past Maddens and still no halftime highlight (2K5 was able to do that on last-gen systems).
Don't forget conniving EA tried to buy out Take-Two; which would had rendered the 2K Sports franchises obsolete. Thank goodness that didn't happen.

Better and likely cheaper. It was NFL 2K5 that dropped their price point to $20 in order to steal market share away from Madden. Fairly certain EA started shaving off a few $$ from Madden trying to keep pace before paying out the big money for exclusive NFL licensing.
** Glances over at his copies of NFL 2K for DC and NFL 2K5 for Xbox **
Damn, I miss that series...

Check out the Goozex League (360)
I agree about the issues with EA, but the last two NHL games have been top notch.
I agree with Hexpane on the College Hoops series, I was disappointed when they stopped.

I haven't played a NFL game since the last 2K game. It was just great, and the last time I played a Madden game I just didn't feel it. Hockey wise though, I do like the EA brand more.
Thank god im not the only one realizing this. Their NBA games are good but i dont play NBA games. EA MVP Baseball was the best, could even compete with the likes of The Show, but 2k ruined it. Thankfully i have a PS3 and can play The Show instead.
EA blows them away with NHL and Madden, while Madden isnt the best it beats the crap out of everything that came out of 2K. The Bigs was just laughable. One of the worst games ive played ever.
