enjoyed the X-men Legends titles a little more,

Yeah I'm not sure why but XML 1 was the best in the "series".  Even tho MUA has a better roster, IDK maybe the "HD Next Gen" is such a big let down that it's not as good?

The main reasons I'm interested in this is that I enjoy comics and co-op games. Unless the writing/story is really terrible, I can't see me disliking this.

the legends games were better than mua 1 because the storyline was better and the environments were too like the sentinel factory. Mua also had some useless characters like nick fury, black panther and electra who did not add anything to the roster because they were practically useless compared to most of the other heroes..

It was still a fun game though and hopefully this one will correct the problems of the first but I doubt it for some reason.

Now that the reviews are rolling in, I'm pretty not excited to play this one.    Far too many solid games coming down the pipes to think I'll ever have enough spare time to bother with it.

Both, Marvel has been better as of late though. And I like the cinematic comics, and I think Marvel does a much better job at that also.

I agree with XML 1 being the best so far, and I know exactly why for me: Some of the best fan service ever in any game. There was so much awesome, obscure stuff in that game for long-time fans, I have no idea how they got away with it. XML 2, while being a better "game" per se, had a story line that would NEVER happen. Then again, marvel published the clone saga, so... I liked MUA, but I honestly would have rather seen XML 3, or maybe an Avengers game. MUA's roster was too diluted and diverse to really have a decent, cohesive story. MUA2 at least has a character specific story for some of the characters, so I guess it's an improvement there. The problem being for me that Civil War is my least favorite event in a LONG time.

Ok, completely off topic, but since we've got some comic nerds around, I have a question that maybe someone can clarify for me, as I haven't kept up with comics in a while.

So... if Spider Man basically sold his soul to save his beloved Aunt May (I know it's not really his soul, but an argument could be made that his love is his soul, etc etc, besides it might as well be)... does that mean that someday, when eventually Spider Man dies-  I mean.. wouldn't he become Ghost Rider?  Ghost Spider mini-series anyone?

To Maskim: Unlikely. I don't really see how that would work. Who knows? Knowing the writers they probably will end up hooking up with each other again down the line. They just want to buy some time to think up new storylines to put in.

Now, about the game, I actually own it and played it with a friend for a few hours yesterday. I will say this: Reviews of this game sometime focus a lot on rather nitpicky aspects. In reality, from what I've seen to date, the game does one thing very very right: The characters. They feel fun, fresh, unique, and while fusions aren't all truly unique-looking, it's not NEARLY as bad as IGN is saying. It's actually somewhat nice that fusions can be similar from a gameplay standpoint, as it makes sure you can have some freedom in what characters you'll use to get a certain kind of fusion you like to use. They also made multiplayer gameplay a LOT better, notably allowing for in-game leveling up (the computer takes over your character while you see a simplified menu allowing you to allocate points, boosts, etc), with fusions being intuitive to use with another friend or with the CPU. Overall, it's not a revolution, but it's a fun, well-made game. The story's MUCH better than the first game's to date (and much better presented), and the little things they got right (optional in-game arrows pointing to objectives, in-game achievements yielding characters, special boosts, and costumes...) make up for the controversial changes (only one alternate costume per character, etc). As opposite to the last game, you won't be looking for who's a good character while dropping all the junk ones. It'll be the opposite; you'll discover almost everyone's useful.

So if you liked the first one but hated its nagging flaws, go for this. I did, and while I'm not that far in, I don't regret it.

Played this game for a few hours last night and loved it.  I feel it's much better than X-Men Legends 1 and 2 and the first Ultimate Alliance.  Juggernaut is simply a wall of power that can take out everything in his path, which is pretty true to the comic.

Anyway, for anyone that didn't preorder the game for the 360 or PS3 at GameStop but still wants the code for Juggy, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to gamestop.com/MUA2VIP
  2. In the Receipt # field, enter any random 10-digit number.  They're not validating this at all.
  3. Enter a valid email address (you'll be emailed the Juggernaut code)
  4. Fill in real or garbage data for the rest of the form.  It doesn't matter.
  5. The code should be mailed to you within 24 hours.

I just tried this out yesterday afternoon and received an additional code this morning which I gave to a friend that didn't preorder it.

I believe I saw the Juggy code available for free download on PSN last night.  I could be wrong though.
