Fines for not leaving feedback....

I just want to thow this idea in the air.  Maybe there sould be a 50 point fine (and the  points from the fine is given to the seller) when a buyer does not leave feedback and the system has to close it. ..........

not one time for buyers that have a history of do that!

Why would you penalize the seller for something completely in the buyer's hands?

That'd be like suggesting that if the seller never sends a game, for the buyer to reclaim his points and token, he needs to pay a 50 point restocking fee.

While it is quite rude not to leave any feedback (I've dealt with some that have 20+ in a row SYSTEM closed) and harms new users, I doubt any fines will take hold.

Out of the many things that could be tweaked in the feedback system, this does not seem like an important one.

remember what they told us in grade school read someting and then reread it to make sure you understand it.

This line at first read is ambiguous. Maskim read it as "the fine should be given to the seller" rather than your intended "the points should be given to the seller."

Perhaps context clues should have helped him out on this, but there's no need to jump all over him for it.

You do.  As it's written, you want a fine, to the seller. 

Now, obviously, you want the buyer fined, and the points given to the seller.  However, what you said is there should be a fine given to the seller.

How does that read?  That the seller should be fined. 

Make sure that what you're writing conveys the message you wish to relay, especially if you're going to attack someone over your error.

Either way, someone is being penalized by losing points. I don't think it would be fair to have the other person lose their points over this. Perhaps what would be better, is if the account were put on hold if the user failed to leave feedback so many times in a row over a certain period of time. Of course this would be along with an email about it. Unless that's already in affect, but I don't know.

I read it as the buyer gets penalized the first time I read it, and I read it within the first 2 replies, so I don't see why he's getting bitched out about it.  But seems like everyone is on edge here lately.
