Signed up for a Sony Credit Card 2 nights ago to get a PS3 slim for $199. Once this one shows up I'm transferring all my stuff to it, selling my 60 GB, and buying another slim model. And then my conversion to Blu-Ray and PS3 only will be complete. Who needs DVD's and PS2 games anymore? It's 2009.

THEY CAN TAKE MY BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY, BUT THEY CAN NEVER TAKE MY TIME CRISIS...ES 2/3!
You will never take my backward compatability. Since this is my first PS I have original PSX games still to love. Darn you for trying to prevent that.
All ps3s have psx BC....

The Sony shareholders thank you.

Though I personally think you're borderline insane for dumping a fully BC PS3, congrats. Just make sure the white writing on the cord for the slim is pointed up!

Likewise. I'm all for multiple PS3 purchases, but to chuck a fully BC one in favor of a 2nd slim? Boo.

My PS3 is a glorified dvd player. Me and the wife get any xbox/ps3 game in xbox format and only play the rare exclusives that are any good.

but that negates the Foreman feature

I wish those games worked on HDTV's. I miss them so much.

I think there is a JPN HDTV 3rd party guncon thing that does work w/ them? I believe I saw something on playasia a while ago that was PS2 / HDTV compatible, it may have used a Wii type light bar
Selling a BC PS3 is fine, just make sure you get good money for it and DO NOT GET ROBBED BY GAMESTOP.
The OG 60gb is the most valuable PS3 going.

I need to check out the guncon deal. I was so excited to find Time Crisis 1 and 2 on here, and bought TC3 with 2 guncons at a flea market. Imagine my surprise to find out that my HDTV didn't cut it :(
"I broke down and did it"
Oh, by the title, I thought this post was about someone losing their virginity.
The main reason I want another slim rather than the 60 GB is because of power consumption. That's still going to be the one in my main game playing room, my wife wants a slim upstairs, and I'd rather that I don't use so much power for a feature that I don't even really use. Better for the environment, better for my power bill.
The only thing that could change my mind would be if I can't get enough for my 60 GB to justify it. Say I have to drop $100 in the swap, it would take a long time to recoup that money in power savings. But if it's pretty close, this power hog is gone.
