I'm not sure I really have any games like this. I willingly subject myself to all sorts of horrors for the lulz, and pretty much everyone who knows me know this about me. I've got people working at used game stores keeping an eye out for My Horse and Me 2 for me, I've got a character on the Hello Kitty Online beta, I actually enjoyed the hell out of Monsters vs. Aliens... Honestly, the most shameful thing for me would actually be Halo.

every game on xbox is probably embarrassing. if my friends knew i played games. they probably woudlnt talk to me. but most of my guy friends know that i do play. and none of my girly friends kno tho.

Don't be ashamed of being who you are. Own your individuality.

I've been a girl gamer all my life. AND. I am talking about the time of Atari, NES, and Dinosaurs here. BUT. I actually even got most of the girls I knew into video games. Mortal Kombat was the key. Everyone loves some finishing move carnage. ;)

Even though i really love them, it would have to be pokemon games for me.  They are great games, and very fun (i think) but apart from people who play them, the games are thought of as a dumb kids game

I could probably add Zanzarah: The Hidden Portal to my list: a big part of the game is collecting fairies and then training them to do battle against other fairies; beat the fairies and you can add them to your collection, much like Pokemon.

You also play as a teenaged girl who likes doing happy dances whenever she finds new items and coins.

That said, the game is actually really enjoyable: there's lots of exploration to do and hidden stuff to find, and it's fun buying new spells and powers for the fairies. It's also a very attractive game with really good music.

It just not something I'm eager to tell people I've played.

I was clearing space on a memory card the other day and realized I still had a save of X-2 and decided to play for a few minutes (I guess to remember why I stopped playing in the first place). My wife watched for a whole 2 minutes before saying "Wow, it's like the barbie dress-up game I had when I was a kid".

It's not very good, and it's way way easy, but I am thoroughly enjoying my playthrough of GI Joe.

I think it's because although it's a movie game, almost everything seems to be from the old toys and cartoon.  Other than the few characters from the movie, who look like their movie counterparts, all the characters are old school.  Tunnel Rat, Shipwreck, Dusty, Gung Ho, the whole crew is there.  There's just something fun about jumping in a Snow Cat and blowing away some HISS tanks.

On a related note, in the movie, why oh why did they have Brendon Frasier play the grizzled drill instructor, instead of actually having Sgt. Slaughter do a cameo?  Such a huge opportunity for awesome missed on that one.

I had to look over my shoulder constantly while playing FFX because of the embarrassingly horrible cutscenes. All Square enix games since they started including voice acting are like that, really.

If you thought FFX was bad for cutscenes you should play FFX-2.  Having a party of all girls lead to really really crappy cutscenes.  Just watching the intro cutscene for the game I felt embarrased for playing it.

I'm more of and FPS/Action guy myself. Even though I never felt "funny" playing this game, the wife did give me a few strange looks when I went through the entire Spyro: the Dragon series on PS1.

I'm loving reading these responses and recalling a good number of games I've regretted playing in the past. The comments on FFX and X-2 hit especially close to home.

I can't play any recent JRPG if my girlfriend is in the apartment anymore. Any childish dialogue (which is most of it, I have to admit) that I might have let slide while playing alone suddenly sounds like a saturday morning cartoon for toddlers as soon as it's within earshot of her scrutiny. And she is always willing to let me know. Even Persona 4, which is supposed to be one of the more mature and critically respected JRPGs to be released in the last few years, really boils down to a lot of pre-teen-levels of silly dialogue that's unendurable when someone's sitting next to you pointing it out.

Also, I tend to get a lot of flack whenever friends look in my Xbox Live achievements and see that I played through Band of Bugs. But screw them -- that game rules.

I have to agree with tsolless here, most of the time if I like a game, even if my friends don't like that kind of game I'll talk about it freely among them. I guess it's partly due to the fact I don't think I ever liked any particularly embarassing games. The only game I have like that now is MLB 08: The Show, I hated 09 and stuck with 08 in the end, the camera issues in 09 were too much for me. Needless to say, most of my gamer friends are not big sports fans, and none of them like sports games. Regardless, I sometimes find myself playing that game for hundreds of hours a month.
