I played with the PS3 streaming disc a few days ago, but I wasn't very happy with it.  The menu is pretty ugly and slow, and I hate the way it stretches out 4:3 content.  Also, I had problems with 2 shows having audio/video sync issues - has anybody else had this problem?

I'm thrilled Netflix is on the PS3, since it's one of the greatest services ever, but I think I'll continue using it on the 360.  Now we just have to hope it comes to the Wii..  the more people using Instant Streaming the more content we should get.

Just got my email, disc should be here by Thursday.

As you guys predicted, it seems my disc arrived back there today and Up is marked as shipping out today.      I'm going to presume this makes it here by Wednesday based on the last one.

I had problems with the first thing I tried to watch on it, the first episode of The Twilight Zone.  The picture quality wasn't great for large portions of it, and the audio was never in sync - by the end of it the audio was about 20 seconds ahead.  However, everything else I've tried has played fine.  I watched Ghostbusters on Sunday with absolutely no problems whatsoever.  I've gone back to that episode of The Twilight Zone and experienced the same difficulties, so I don't know exactly is wrong or what I can do about it.

That sounds just like the problem I experienced with multiple episodes of South Park.  I watched the same episodes on the 360 without any problems.

Got it and have had no problems yet. Saw a few episodes of Tripping the Rift and a Penn and Teller bulls....

Works great and I am ok with swapping the disk out. I would like to see it part of the xmb someday.

30 Rock is awesome, I watched seasons 1 and 2 on streaming when I realized I should probably watch the show when it airs.

Not sure if it has been mentioned, and I dont really want to go through the whole thread, but I realized the other day that R2/L2 allow you to move through the entries 10-15 items at a time in the queue.  Considering I have never ordered my instant queue, this makes it easy to find the stuff I just added since it's all at the end.

Mine's supposed to come today.    But the Bears play tonight, so I won't get to play with it much.     Unless they're losing by about 40 at halftime, which is possible.

Disc came, I'm playing with it a little bit.     Setup was SUPER easy, took about 5 seconds.

1st impressions, you guys are correct that the PS3 interface seems a little clunkier and slower at first glance.    The Xbox version really wasn't all that great IMO from my short time with it either, and this one is a notch below.     More of a delay when you leave something to go back to the menu, more of a delay in getting something rolling.     For setting up your queue, neither is really all that good and a PC is necessary though.

Played a couple of kids things - one Barney and one Caillou.    Not very impressed with the quality on that front, the kids seem happy enough with it though.     Bitrate was ranging about 1.5 Mbps to 2.0 Mbps.    It looked pretty bad, definitely worse than DVD IMO.    Moreso the Barney one which has a lot more data since it's not a cartoon, but even Caillou was having trouble with any motion whatsoever.   When the frames were pretty still it looked decent even at the 2.0 Mbps.   Also went with The Big Lewbowski and was watching my bitrate flop around between about 3.5 and 5.3 or so Mbps.    Quality was decent, I'd say upscaled DVD and maybe a little better is fair.    I'll throw in my DVD for comparison later.    Either way it's not nearly as good as Blu Ray, but watchable.    No way I could watch a movie at the bitrate on those kids things though so I'm curious what percentage of these are available in HD.

I'd much rather watch anything I hadn't watched before, and my favorite movies like Lebowski in Blu-Ray format over this.   For "rerun" type stuff I'm not all that attached to I can see the appeal of this though.

Up arrived today.    Someone told me that they give you preferred service during the trial period though.

Do they have it where you can download it before you watch it so you dont have to worry about connection problems affecting the frame rate of what you are watching?
