Played with the streaming to PC last night, it looked much crappier than it did on my buddy's TV and was a much smaller screen. I can see what you guys are talking about with the silverlight stuff, they really gimp it somehow and give you no control over any of the settings. It kind of sucks and I wouldn't even bother with it with how bad that stuff looks. I wonder if this was done because it would be a lot easier to steal this stuff via PC than the other things so they gimp the quality so it's not really worth stealing.
Just got an email that GI Joe is on it's way on Blu Ray, should be here Saturday. No word yet on the arrival time of my PS3 disc though. :(

Tried the disc on the ps3 over lunch. I'll stick with my 360 for now. The UI was very slow to respond although the setup was a piece of cake.
DrJ079, there's an article on Joystiq showing someone with a 3mbps connection using Netflix on his PS3.

Don't know if that will tide you over until you get your disc. I like the looks on the 360 more, but this disc is only for a little bit, then it will be integrated into the XMB. Supposedly. :)
Edit: Of course two minutes after I post this, Joystiq has this on top of their page:

Had a chance to try of the streaming disc and while I like the Netfix feature on PS3 (never got much use out of streaming to my PC) it can't hold a candle to the 360's feature-laden version.
Setting up you instant queue by web browser before using the streaming disc is functional but cumbersome compared to being able to skim through movie listings directly on the the 360's version. For those that have the option to use the 360 or PS3 version, I can't see much reason to use the PS3's streaming Netflix except as a backup.
Since I only have a PS3, i'll gladly take the Neflix addition, but I hope they can provide a similar interface to the 360 version in the future.

Wait I can't just search movies on the PS3 Version? I have to setup a queue?

you have to do it from the computer or ps3 web browser i believe

Unless i'm missing something in the PS3 Netflix UI, no you can't. You need to set up your streaming queue off a web browser and a couple of minutes later those entries pop up on the PS3's Netflix service.

Crap - I did miss something with the Netflix UI - the left stick does scroll the options over from the Instant Queue you can set up via web browser to different movie genres for streaming. Don't really dig the layout compared to 360, but it's more functional than I gave it credit for.

Yea you can choose different types of movies etc...as well as your list as well as movies like the last one you saw...Pretty neat. I like how they note that some movies are HD. Chose Big Lebowski as my first movie in HD and it looks pretty good! I'm pretty satisfied good stuff!!! Glad I signed up. hopefully the wife likes it too!
still going with 360 over ps3; faster interface/movie playback and functions a bit better
Just got to wait on my disk to try this out. But as a lot of people are saying i will just end up sticking with it on my 360.
Random curiosity--what happens if you run the PS3 disc in a regular Blu-ray player? Obviously it'd need to be networked and BD-Live compatible, but that's not too uncommon. I have a Sony BDP-BX1 that I could use with this setup if it works.
If it's just a standard BD-Live disc I don't know why it wouldn't work.
IIRC, originally the 360 didn't allow you to update you're queue from the console either, hopefully that changes.
Not having used the 360 edition, I was quite pleased with the setup. Not super quick, but it wasn't clunky to me either. I intend on using the PS3 setup over my PC that's connected to the TV just so I don't have to deal with IE from the couch.
I'd be curious to hear if the disc worked in a standard BR player myself.

As a 360 less user this is great. easier to hook up my ps3 around the house then my laptop. My laptop is ok but the video streams better via ps3. Now if I used my gaming computer thats another story entirely
