timpysan: mafafu: Hexpane:Yeah I used Myspace to try and find old college friends, found none of them... only found random LULZ people Just this week I had 4 old friends of mine find me on Facebook, people I haven;t seen in over a decade. It was a pleasant surprise. But to each his own. Hexpane:I guess FB is more for teens and 20somethings who don't care if people see crazy pics of them doing borderline illegal stuff. I guess this mid-30s parent doesn't fit the stereotype. I'm starting to think we were separated at birth.

That would explain how you ended up with mafafu's left nut.

stoudman: Reserved mah disc. I probably won't use it that often, but it will be nice to have...providing that movies in HD are actually in HD, which would have to mean that Microsoft Silverlight was NOT involved, since their program won't do more than 320x240 resolution from what I've seen.

I don't know where you're getting your Silverlight misinformation, but it's capable of way more than 320x240. Netflix streams HD content in 720p because of bandwidth limitations, not Silverlight limitations.

Still for free. I am enjoying my facebook, twitter and last.fm though I can't believe you could say that with a straight face (given the smiley). Facebook? Twitter? Last.fm can stay.

I felt the same way as you at first, but the Facebook app is actually pretty cool for one reason -- it'll show you which of your Facebook friends also have an Xbox Live account, and vice-versa.
I'm saying this purely for information purposes:
zygote55, I'm not sure who you're quoting or if you are aware, but if you respond to their post you can either hit quote and it will quote the entire post or you can highlight the text in the grey area and hit quote so only the text you have selected will be quoted.

Thank you, somehow I missed that option... I don't post on these threads much.
stoudman:Oh, and the Disc. "What's the point?!" Well, it's free as compared to $50 a year and from what I have read you can actually access more features on the PS3 version -- unless they changed something about Netflix on the 360 in the past few months that I didn't know about. I know they added you can watch with friends, but I could only ever access my instant queue on the 360, and based on what Netflix is saying about their service on the PS3, you'll be able to access pretty much the entire catalog.
From what I read in Joystiq's interview it'll be exactly the same as Netflix on the 360. The 360 version has been updated several times since last year when it only showed your Instant Queue. It now displays Instant Queue, Recently Watched, and the top 75 movies or so in several genres (TV Shows, New Movies, Comedy, etc). The PS3 version will be exactly the same.
i have to say im not excited for this at all. I would rather go to the local red box and get a new release for a buck then pay for a membership for this and have a catalog of older releases. don't need it for the tv shows i have a dvr and if i miss one most tv shows stream online now anyway for free.
Pm me your email addy for Lockerz invite have 9 left redemption coming soon

You know the membership fee also gets you actual Netflix by mail service too, right?

My top quote about LULZ people is MYSPACe not facebook. The point I was trying to make was Myspace was more LULZ and Facebook is more realz.
I accepted a friend invite from a girl I haven't seen since I was 15 years old, she hung around w/ other girls in my hood and I went to school w/ her sister. We were not true friends so to speak, but nice to each other. So I accepted... and now I can see pictures of her kids... ... to me that is pretty much Facebook ... pictures of people's kids..
Ive noticed those who have kids can't wait to comment on other people's kids and give them advice or exchange kids stories. It's all fine and dandy, I'm just not big into kids.
