Playon will allow you to use Hulu as well I believe, if I remember correctly.
Playon was great for the 2 days it worked for me....just stopped working on day 3. A ticket to their support team was answered with the generic "Did you change anything on your end?" lateral, so I gave up. Now they send me emails from time to time to PLEASE COME BACK!

"PS3 Media Server" is a good program for streaming local media.
PlayOn streams online video content (including Hulu) to your 360 and PS3. It's well worth the price of admission. I don't use PlayOn's local media streamer very much because I already have similar and more capable programs for PS3 and 360 (PlayOn's media manager is relatively new and still in beta).

For the PS3, yes. For the 360 I splurged on "Connect 360" a while back (for mac). I'd like to use windows media player for streaming to the 360, but i can't for the life of me figure out how to get WMP to look in my external hdd without trying to copy everything into my library folder.
Reserved my disc, don't know which console i'll end up using as no disc is still more convenient

Netflix, Hulu, and CBS are what I use it for.
I use vuze to send media to my 360 from my mac. While it can be used for torrents VUZE is also extremly useful for streaming from your hard drive to the 360 and ps3, best of all its free

I really disliked WMP for streaming to the 360. Windows Connect was even worse. I prefer to stream or play media files using the PS3 as I haven't encountered a media file that wasn't supported.
