I know, I was going to quote for truth, and then right at the word "cap" it went speedily downhill.
That said, both Halo 3 and CoD4 are excellent games in my opinion. I will say that I haven't had as much fun playing a FPS since Counterstrike as I did when Halo 3 first came out.

Irony is lost on the internet. I'm just trying to say that it's become the rage on forums like this to sit and bash super popular games for silly reasons. They'll praise COD while bashing Halo while the two games are very similar.
That being said, I do like to shoot (since cap is unacceptable slang that can't be used or I'll be made fun of super cool Goozex forum nerds) people that come in and bitch that the controls are no good.
I guess I'll just go back to trading since the cool kids love to tear everyone apart for silly semantic reasons.
I think it's a general animosity towards any type of fanboyism. Halo evokes some pretty ridiculous tirades from some really idiotic fanboys, and while other games may have similar players, Halo stands out because of how widespread it is (and has proportionally more of said fanboys).
I hate fanboys.

At the same time, we all like to be haters at times because we can perpetuation our own ideals. Because we're all selfish on the real. But we can take a step back and not be haters, at least I can.
I hate me some Call of Duty but i'll be damned if i'll tell you it's a horrible game.

Halo is a decent game, but in the grand scheme of shooters, it's truly just hohum.
So, call me a 'hater' if you will (despite no real hate for the title), but while it's one of the best shooters on the 360, it's nothing to write home about.

are all different games. Is it possible or permissible to like Halo but not Halo 2? If someone does not like Nysync does that make them a hater too?
The idea of a hater is someone who constantly HATES on something. Not liking one of the many halos has nothing to do with being a hater. Although halo fantards seem to get ultra defensive if anyone disagrees w/ their assessment that Halo 3 is the best, most innovative, most fun, most tea bagging game around.

"What most people don't realize" is that Halo (in all of its incarnations) is a fairly lackluster, decent FPS at best. THAT is why it is constantly rated so highly among online gamers (the not realizing part).
It is not innovative, so don't try to play that card. Anything you want to tote as "new" and "unique" about the game had been done before Halo 1 ever came out.
The graphics are nothing near what they ought to be for the time of release. Multiple other games from around the same time trump these games in this department (ESPECIALLY Halo 1 -- holy freaking crap).
I'm not going to try to contradict anyone on the controllers/keyboards issue, but I will say that I grew up with controllers, and I have no doubt at all that a mouse/keyboard offers hands-down greater precision and control. I was getting destroyed at Halo 1+2, got a keyboard/mouse adapter for the Xbox, and immediately started clearing out the competition.
I won't argue against the idea that it (at least at one point) was the best FPS for the Xbox -- but that's really not saying much. The main thing I think Halo has going for it is its market saturation (and blindly ravenous fanbase, of course).

I personally think console controllers are better, it's easier to turn quicker (Turn up sensitivity, PC gamers wouldn't realize this in there elitist brain) Yeah, I can actually turn quicker in a game like halo with max sensitivty then I can on a PC. +1 for that. PC gaming is better by nature, sure, have fun paying and playing on your weak ass setup with very little support. I hope you die a horrible death for just reading the title and not the whole thing, if you read the whole thing it would agree with all youre points of the graphic being out dated ect. But, then I explained why it was so good. Apparently you didn't read it or you would've responded, "I agree with you're points on the graphics being out dated, but even though I actaully read this post AND checked the links, I still don't like the game as I am a PS3 Fanboy that doesn't want to realize that a game can have customization that is better and more fun then LBP and/or I am a PC fanboy that wants to hate on consoles because PC games have had custizabilty for years, yet I don't seem to notice that PC games custom maps are all the same shoot the enemy type games where as halo encourages people to be creative with there own gametypes to make truly fun minigames rather then just have a creative shoot the enemy map."
