I'm not a huge fan of his fights, but gawd damn it,  The  Dean of Mean is just one uber nickname, sounds like some Boxing nickname from 1930 I love it.

I like Keith Jardine a lot. He's got a goofy fight style that includes a mixed bag a wide-looping punches and nice tight leg kicks. One of my favorite finishes of his was when he beat Forest Griffon. Jardine had a full mount and was raining down some of the biggest ground n pound punches i've seen. A lot of times when guys are mounting, they are throwing tight-quick punches, Jardine was throwing down huge, arcing punches that looked absolutely painful

. He's still got room for advancement and he's got a legitamite chance of beating Rampage, but my honest opinion is that Rampage will be Jardine. I think Rampage will prove to be too strong for Jardine.

Jardine looks to me, to have lost the gleam in his eyes to win. We'll have to see, but I can only see this fight going one way, Rampage is going to rain hell on the Jardine like he hasn't felt.  Even worse than when Wandy wrecked him.

I see the Jardine/Rampage fight ending 1 of two ways.  Either Rampage kills him in like 25 seconds or Jardine wins a decision.  I'm voting for Jardine just because I'm not a huge Rampage fan...  Actually, evertime I see JArdine fight I start to like his wierd style more and more.  Too bad if he wins he won't fight Rashad though.

Really, an impressive night of fights.   Brandon Vera and Mat Brown looked amazing last night.  Rampage took home a dominant performance proving that Jardine does in fact have a chin.  Carwin is indeed a real threat to the HW division.  7 total KO's and TKO's on the night and 9 total fights shown.....just an awesome night.

Oh yeah, I still hate Rashad Evans.

We got ourselves another amazing night of fights coming tomorrow night, if anyone here has ever thougfht about becoming a fan of MMA/UFC, July 11th would be the best night in history to become so, with two title fights and a friggin unreal undercard.  Watch and enjoy.

I agree.  It's like there's 4 main events tomorrow night. I don't feel bad dropping $55 on this thing in HD. Hopefully it won't disappoint.

I'm really looking forward to UFC 100, it's going to be awesome!

I'm pulling for Mir over Lesner, but that one can go both ways I think.

I think GSP will defeat Alves.  Alves is really good, but I don't think he's ready for the title yet, I find him a little one sided and he'll get expsed against GSP's wrestling.

What else...  I'm going for Bispoing over Henderson, mainly because I want to see Bisping vs Silva afterwards.  Fitch over Thiago I'm thinking.  Oh, I'm really looking forward to Akiyama's UFC debut and think he'll demolish Belcher.  A lot of good fights in the undercard as well.

What are your picks?

Lesnar over Mir via death

GSP over Alves via TKO stoppage 2nd round....watch the weigh ins, alves looks wiped out from the weight cut.

Hendo over Bisping via 2nd round KO

Fitch over Thiago via 3rd round sub

My picks, like em or not.

Looks like we agree on half of the fights.  I can actually see Lesner beating Mir though, he's got the raw strength and amazing agility for a big guy.  I pretty much see it as a stand up fight until Lesner will catch Mir hard.  If Mir can survive the ensuing ground beating for about 15 - 20 seconds, he'll work out a submission, otherwise...  off to the hospital...

OK OK, so Mir didn't die.   LOL

I was surprised to see Alves go the distance with GSP

and can I call a Hendo KO or WHAT!!!!    That was the highlight of my night.

I'll be interested to see if Brock gets fined for denouncing a big sponser to the UFC like he did. Man he was all jacked up after that fight. He took everything he learned from WWE and turned himself Heel after the fight...I love it.

Alves was, as expected, outclassed by GSP. GSP takes your strengths and uses them against you. Alves thought he was going to be too strong for GSP, GSP controlled him at will. Oh by the way, the quote of the night came from Greg Jackson after GSP told him he thought he pulled his groin. "I don't care about that, it doesn't matter! Hit him with your groin!"

I was the only one in my house routing for Hendo in their bout. I really don't like either, but I like Henderson a little more than Bisbing. Holy crickey! He took a couple steps, wound up and nailed Bisbing with a huge KO punch, THEN jumped in the air and dropped down another punch of equivalent power! It was insane!!

Whoever that japanese guy is who came in with a lot of hype, didn't deliver and got a BS decision over Alan Belcher.

Jon Fitch and Paulo Thiago was put on at the wrong time. I was hardly paying attention because we were all talking about Brock's fight. By the time the match was over it looked like most of the crowd was gone, poor guy.

Lesnar was a heel before he had his first UFC fight, because heaven forbid one of them fake wrasslers' can be good enough for glorified human *** fighting.

"Human Cuckledoodledoo fighting" ? either you're joking or John McAin circa 1995 has joined Goozex?

Lesnar always seemed like a big bully and whadya know, a MUCH bigger stronger guy taunting the smaller dood after losing?  poor form. When someone is injured fighters should show respect and humility

"Mir was clearly hurt. Lesnar taunted him and fans, which brought booing while Joe Rogan interviewed Lesnar after the fight." - Sherdog

What is lame is it turned into nothing more than a controversy over corporate sponsorship

"“I acted very unprofessionally after the fight, and I’ll leave it at that,” he said. “You guys ask me all the time if there’s anything I can drag over from WWE, and I guess you’ve seen a little bit of that tonight. I’m used to selling pay-per-view tickets. Dana came back, and we had our whip-the-dog session. I screwed up, and I apologize.”

Lesnar expressed specific remorse to Bud Light.

“I’m not biased,” he said. “I drink any beer.”

Dana White in his usual myopic money first ways, ignores the basic idea of fighter respect and proper decorum in the ring, instead Dana focusses on kissing up to the corporate sponsors and ignores the fact that an injured fighter was taunted POST match by the victor.  Lame Dana.   Very lame.  Fighters are risking their lives for your promotion and you are more worried about Bud Light being upset?

The fact is Lesnar should be "super heavyweight" and Mir should be "heavyweight" but UFC throws lighter guys like Randy, Rampage, Evans etc.. into heavyweight depending on who they have.  Most of those guys have thankfully moved back down to LHW.

But Lensar is a true SHW and unfortunately there aren't any other guys his size out there for him to fight, so expect him for the rest of his career to beat up on smaller guys w/ the occassional match up w/ a lesser skilled guy his size who will get creamed.

All the real athletes who can match Lesnar in size and Strength are playing in the NFL and will not take a paycut for Dana White.

Lesnar has a chance to go down as one of the greatest natural SHW MMA fighters of all time simply because there is no one around wiling to challenge him who has a legit chance since those guys are all doing other more lucrative sports like NFL and NBA.

Imagine a Blake Griffin w/ 10 years of MMA training..suddenly Lesnar would be the smaller guy.  Imagine Big Baby Glen Davis w/ 8 years of wrestling and proper weight training... these are the types of guys who would be fun to watch in a SHW division.  Sadly we will never get a real one in MMA because of money.

The best super sized athletes have MILLIONS waiting on the table in the NBA and NFL.  Even 4 years in the NBA is more than you can make in a lifetime of MMA fights.  Until that is fixed the biggest great athletes will never be in MMA and guys like Lesnar will dominate by default.

I have to disagree with this take on the lesner taunting, Mir couldn't shut his mouth for months before the fight and after it was all done, I don't begrudge Lesner, amped up after a great win, talking smack who clearly got wrecked after much mocking on  Leser's behalf. I do however agree with a splitting of the HW division but it will leave, an already small HW division, even smaller which is why I can't see it happening.

Now, what this post is really about, Josh Barnett is a tool, is has probably single handedly destroyed the affliction fight org, and took away the main event from affliction 3 because he is a tool.  Way to let the fans down.

Yeah, I'm really disappointed about that, I was looking forward to Fedor crushing Barnett...

I think this may actually work out well for Affliction (IF they can get someone to fight Fedor on such short notice).  They have been trying to cut their total fighter purses for events and I'm sure Barnett was getting a lot of cash for that fight.  Now if they can get someone like Belfort or Lashley (those were the names I've heard), that would significantly reduce their payroll for the fighters.  That also leaves the Barnett vs Fedor fight in the horizon to keep interest in Affliction.

I do agree with you though, Josh Barnett is a tool.

Belfort is a terrible idea, I've read about this too and it sounds more like a snuff film than an MMA event.  I would love to watch lashley get beat up by a guy half his size though.  I know Werdum, Rogers  and Gilbert are out of the picture to fill in too.   What a pile of suck.
