God of War I and II Re-Release

If it came with a port of Chains of Olympus (the psp gow game) then I would definitely go for it as that's the only one I haven't played but I remember the other 2 well so it's a no go for me.  If you haven't payed God of War games before or never got around to finishing them then this is a must have before number 3 comes out in March (presumably).

I have played both on PS2 and the psp title.  I am looking forward to the 720p update package. These games are so good and worth the second play through.  Did i hear trophies?  Shoot i am getting this 2 for 1 deal.  People if you haven't played God of War 1 and 2 you owe it to yourself these games are amazing.

Yeah what the heck no CoOlymp?  Probably the art assets do not look that good scaled up to 720p for the PSP game

Just put my GoW 1 and 2 on PS2 requests on hold. Will wait to see this combo out and read reviews. At first glance, looks like a must have :)

I really enjoyed God of War 1, 2 and Chains of Olympus, so I will definitely be getting this.

Anyway, I texted my buddy about the remakes (he loves GoW and recently got a PS3), and he just about peed his pants at the news. And no, GoW doesn't mean Gears of War; God of War came out like a year and a half before Gears of War.  The abbreviation when referring to Gears of War is simply "Gears."  =P )

Good news for me. The only GoW I've played is Chains of Olympus.

Yupp i would buy them hands down.

Most of the screenshots from MGS2 and MGS3 were actually done at semi HD on PS2 dev kits so you can already get a glimpse of what MGS3 would look like in HD

I don't know about "easy."  Not if they want the games to be good, anyway.  When they ported MGS1 to Gamecube, it wasn't just a straight port.  They redid the character models, recorded new vocal tracks, added additional content... it was a pretty good overhaul even though the actual game wasn't really altered.  You can't take the same old crappy models and just render them at 720p (just run any PSX game on a PC emulator at high res); it will look better, no doubt -- but the low-res textures will still be stretched and the models will look even more angular if they're not redone to be more complex.

 

An interesting note: one of the MGS4 loading screens informed me that the 3D model for Snake's mustache in MGS4 has more polygons than the entire Snake character model in MGS3.  *whistle*
