RobAndDiana: I just tried it briefly, and I couldn't even hit the puck, so yes, it seems like a REALLY steep learning curve. I tried the Mii Skills. Is that the best place to start learning to play?

No, I'd say the tutorials, under practice under game modes - they kinda suck, in you have to do each thing in succesion b4 it will let you go on, and then sometimes you just can't manage to do 1, and it won't advance. but they will tell you how you're supposed to do things. and then do the Break Away under Practice, however many dfenders you want aGInst you, maybe even 0 , unitl you get the basics. it is a very steep curve, i was being nice b/c I wanted people to get the game. like I said, it's a week or 2 to learn well enough to start beating the computer. you using classic or motion plus or regular? M+ makes no difference that I can tell.
I'm using Motion Plus + Nunchuck. I want to try to get the full experience. I figure if I wanted to play with a regular controller, I'd play my 360 or PS3.
Thanks for the tips.

Oh snap, IWX. no I'm sure that's exactly why he does use the classic, he's not a true Wiificianado - I agree, not a chance I would get a classic for anything- much less something with M+ supposedly making it magically better even though I can't see it. there is an option to pass by using the pointer - it's very useful in some situations, as oppposed to cycling through to find the right guy - but mostly a pain in the ass

no problem
Guess I should go look for this goozex team. Is it under tournament (there's one option for tournament and one for season in searching the leagues)?

yeah, not a team name or season name but a tournament name, how to do it is in the other hockey thread, minus the password step b/c I figure it's not really neccesary. be careful never to hit down on your D-pad after you sign up and are in the tournament page on the game- It will ask you if you want to leave the tournament - and if you think it just means the tournament PAGE - and not the actual TOURNAMENT -(which is what it does mean!) then you would be wrong, and would subsequently be kicked out.
oh, and don't sound so enthusiastic about it, you will make other people want to join in
also thought you might appreciate this Kam -
I think if I had to pick another Goozex name today it would be Unleashthefurry

I actually remember seeing that sign and laughing when it first came out (which was quite a while ago). In fact, I thought this was way older, but I just realized when this was. Though I don't know the date, I do know the following: It was the night when Ric Flair came back on Raw for one appearance after he "retired" at Wrestlemania XXIV. In the ring is Flair on the floor and Randy Orton is standing up walking around, and I believe on the outside is Batista (to the very bottom left).
I also saw another misspelled sign today during Raw, which said "Sheamus nedsa tan". Of course, they were trying to say "needs a" but failed horribly. Unfortunately, not as funny as that sign.
Brawl tonight? I got it, it works, I can most likely hold my own at least with what I know plus I have a great excuse if I get killed.
Keep in mind, we're only talking about 2 games played maximum in this 4 person tournament. 2 sets of 2 play each other once, then the winners play each other. that's it. not a big deal. so 2 people will be playing 2 games, and the other 2 will only be playing 1 each.
I'm in for Brawl tonight! Yoshi is going to lay a whooping on someone... Or more accurately fall off the platforms numerous times until I am able to fiinish someone off with a lucky shot... Either way, I'll take it
I tried Yoshi once, I rolled roight off the platform way too easily not sure why platform is neccesary at all, but I will be opening up cans of whoop ass either on random or with Kirby (surprisingly lethal for a pink balloon ) or Bowser, although I found the Ice climbers (no clue what game they are supposed to be from) to be pretty effective as well.
Any tips? things the vets can tell us noobs?

Other than avoiding me...
I suggest not relying heavily on your special attacks (all moves that you use with the B button [I'm thinking of a GC controller]) and use your shield when you know you're going to get attack and roll with it (while holding down the shield button move to the side). Although the first one seems to be the main reason why people end up losing.
