What are you going to do with you movies once you HD-DVD player breaks? I suppose that's why Goozex is here...

It is a cheap way to get into HD. It is not a cheap way to stay in HD, because at some point you'll have to buy a Blu-Ray player anyway and maintain two units.
Well, it depends on the player youre using...if you have a LG player, it will do the HD-DVD and the Blu Ray...so why not take advantage of the cheap titles on the HD DVD format. I wouldnt buy a stand alone, but the LG internal ones for you computer play both, so it seems like a win-win to me.
