No, the backwards compatibility stopped with the Micro.

most ds lite get that hairline cracked hinge for some reason.  i know mine has it, but it doesnt seem to affect functionality really. thats cool about the case thugh. did it suck as much for oyu as it did for me to take the ds apart to replace the case?  (i didnt replace the case, ir eplaced the top screen, but it still sucked, accidentally snapped the tab on the power switch, and now i use a toothpickk to tur it on and off)

Puzzle games -

Rittai Picross - import, doesn't matter if you don't speak japanese. Sculpting game.

Henry Hatsworth and the Puzzling Adventure - Half bejeweled, half sidescrolling action platformer, all stereotypical british charm

Professor Layton and the Curious Village - Holy crap, and the sequel comes out this week!

RPGs

Fossil Fighters - It's a kids' game, it's easy as hell, but damnit it's fun.

Disgaea - It's like final fantasy tactics and an excel spreadsheet made a baby

Mario and Luigi Partners in Time - Enjoyed mario RPG? Enjoy the sequel to the spiritual sequel to the spirital sequel. Or something. Babies!

Rune Factory 1/2 - All the joys of Harvest Moon's dating simulation (who really cared about the farming?) with a little bit of monster stabbing.

Contact - Suda51. I can't explain further.

Action/Platforming

Henry Hatsworth again, seriously check it out

Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow - Sequel to aria, an awesome metroidvania with a gotta-catch-'em-all twist. Only two I've ever really enjoyed

Drawn to Life - the real challenge is seeing how long you can go without drawing dingalings!

GTA Chinatown Wars - Holy crap the DS can do this?

Adventure

Hotel Dusk: Room 251 - Noir mystery, hell yeah!

Phoenix Wright - Play them in order lest you be horribly confused. Who knew lawyerin' could be fun?

Wtf

Warioware - You won't really understand why you're having fun, but for some reason you are.

Not bad at all. Just takes time. mine had a cracked left hinge and the little bar that  goes across the bottom was broke. You can get a replacement power switch from the same place i got the case for dirt cheap. Deal Extreme

I had broken hinges on 2 DS Lites defore getting one that didn't break.  Both were covered under warranty, so Nintendo replaced them both with new systems!  Big Smile

You can't go wrong with Advance Wars.  Probably my all-time favorite handheld series.  You can play all 4 on the DS Lite too, there were 2 on the GBA.  I'm also partial to the 2 awesome Metroid games that graced the GBA: Metroid Fusion and Metroid: Zero Mission.  GREAT games.

Advance Wars (either game)
Age of Empires: The Age of Kings
Animal Crossing: Wild World
Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars
Castlevania (any of them, Order of Ecclesia is probably best?)
Chrono Trigger
Civilization Revolution
Contra 4
Dawn of Discovery
Disgaea DS
Dragon Quest IV or V
Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard
Final Fantasy IV
Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars
Hotel Dusk: Room
Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, The
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
Professor Layton and the Curious Village
Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords
Rune Factory 2: A Fantasy Harvest Moon
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor
Trauma Center: Under the Knife
World Ends With You, The

Not all of those are adventure/RPG - I slipped a few action/strategy/puzzle titles in too.  But most of those games are at least worth looking at.  Read a review or two to see if it's something you would like, and then start playing!

This is a great suggestion: GBA has many great games available.  If you are interested in taking advantage of the backward compatibility feature, then you might find some good RPG/adventure games cheap in second-hand stores.  Watch for titles like Golden Sun 1 or 2, anything from the Final Fantasy series, Zelda Link to the Past or Minish Cap, Tactics Ogre, or the Fire Emblem games...

And I want to emphatically agree that Metroid Zero Mission is GREAT.

"Mario Kart" is good, also I would suggest "zelda phantom hourglass", if you like the kind of game that will piss you off cause its so freaking hard.
