Saw this today, it is only available for the next 5 hours or so but it seems like a cool idea for all the old school nintendo fans out there. A system that plays both NES and SNES games for 40 bucks...not too bad.

I believe Amazon carries one of the other reverse-enginerred ones for $40 normally.

I'm going to have to keep my eye on this site; they've had some pretty neat things come down the line lately.  I'm loving those USB SNES controllers.

Since I have an snes I would probably just go for a cheap nes.

You can find these systems all over eBay too.  I can't vouch for how well they work, but it would be great to have both systems in one package.  It would be hard to stop myself from puffing into all my cartridges!

Blowing into the cartridge worked on NES consoles, not because the games were dusty (like we all thought), but because the pins inside the slot, which would normally hold a firm grip on the cartridge, gets loose over time by being bent out of shape. This happens most quickly when you leave a game in the slot for long periods of time.

Blowing onto the cartridge introduces moisture which completes the loose connection when the game would not normally make sufficient contact with the pins in the slot.

This is actually fairly easily fixed by either A) slightly bending the pins back down to tighten up the connection; or B) purchasing a new part which, if I recall, isn't too hard to replace with ordinary at-home tools.

Yeah, I've replaced that part before.  I was... well, making a joke.
