I totally agree with the original poster. Staff and mods should be available to provide answers to questions, organize the forum, and provide conflict resolution.
More often than not, what I see here is condescending remarks, clique mentality, and downright hostile dispositions.

In reality the mods don't even address most of the heavily repeated questions. We just leave them to the sarcastic asshats.

I've seen a few hateful remarks, but nothing compared to most forums. Are people really that thin skinned around here now? Go to gamefaqs or another site and see how well the reception is there.
Haha I actually wanted to post something along the lines of telling you that who really cares and if you would actually stay active for a couple of weeks then you would know why most active users are the way they are. But you would probably just post another forum saying that I am too mean.
This forum is actually really toned down compared to a lot of others out there. If you want to go somewhere else then go right ahead. But if you actually want to be an active member of this forum then stop complaining and get to posting.
larpi: I just wanted to point out that just because I am a sarcastic idiot in most threads that doesnt mean that I am not smart enough or willing to help a noob answer his or her noobish question if I can be helpful. That is the way it with most of these users here as well if you read their posts.BUT that being said I dont need a new user to classify me or anyone else here as a douchebag because he/she has no sense of humor or didnt get the answer that they were looking for when they asked. These forums are meant for multiple reasons including entertainment and if someone chooses to say a silly answer to a question that has been asked over 1000 times like how come no disc and case option then that question tends to be really bothersome after answering that exact same question over 30 times in a 2 month period especially when the user could have easily just looked up the answer from multiple threads from before. To call people douchbags and then expect a sincere answer from them is not the best way of going about things. Most questions - no matter how dumb - eventually get answered and most of the time in a timely manner from users here who have had multiple trade experiences.

If you want a forum that is nothing but egg shell walking, mod ass kissing and a bunch of ra ra buddies lapping up Souja Boi vidoes, try Giantbomb. The mods over there have a zero tolerance for anything sardonic, sarcastic or truthful when it critiques anything. It's all positive back slapping and yes men if that is what you need.

Unfortunately these forums, which should be the center of the community are just a complete wasteland of content. What should be the driving force to grow Goozex and its userbase instead comes off as a playground for immature individuals seemingly wanting to perpetuate their own circle of friends. They are just not that welcoming to outsiders and the amount of sarcastic and condecending replies I am reading to posts these days is completely turning me off from wanting to be an active community member. I want Goozex to be my go to place for game information and discussions. It has all the potential to do that when I am already here looking for games to add to my cue. I want to find other gamers to play with, but when every post just comes across as teenagers ripping on the topic starter it doesn't make me want to participate. Now I understand the silliness has a time and a place, and that is great in some discussions, but when people are posting suggestions for the site or asking for tech support stuff, the almost aggressive nature of the responses from the community are sure to drive users away. Would someone want to sign up for this community if they came into these boards and read what was on here? Perhaps support threads should only be replied to by Goozex staff. I agree completely. Although I've had my fair share of trolling here so in no way am I not at fault on this one. I've also noticed that it's always the same group of guys acting the way you've said. It starts off with some random new guy asking a question then random goozer talking him down. Then it's followed by the same group of users derailing the thread with mostly inside jokes. I usually just ignore those posts, but it's not as bad as other forums I'll tell you that. Some of the people on here can be really helpful.

Yeah, I always over react to being lumped in w/ KKK and *** because I may have once told someone to read the FAQ :) There is an old internet rule that once someone mentions *** a thread must be closed because it has reached the Straw Man mountain top.

The thing that has bothered me the most is when the OP asks a question and the first few responses are links and rebukes telling the OP to do a forum search. If you're going to answer the question then answer the question. If you're going to tell everyone to do a forum search then put it in your sig.
I will post use the forum search because how else are they going to learn about the forum search feature. Now if you are too damn lazy to use it then you don't deserve you question answered.
