EXACTLY.

I have been here for a while (not as long as some others, but a while nevertheless) and this has only been happening (to me, at least) in the last 2 or 3 months. I am bringing it up now so that we can find a solution BEFORE it messes up the system and pushes some people to stop using goozex.

And to the people saying that goozex has a system in place to detect this stuff, It isn't ONE ACCOUNT. The problem is if you were the scammer you have TONS of accounts, so even if they somehow catch one, you still have the other 20 accounts bumping you up the line. unless you are telling me that the system they have to check this stuff checks for simliarities between MULTIPLE accounts.

The only genuine solution that I see is to have a ADDRESS CHECK when you sign up: when users input their address, have goozex send them an activation code THROUGH THE MAIL, and have that be the only way for them to activate their account. That way, scammers can't make multiple accounts with different addresses unless they live there.

There's little chance goozex is going to make a new user wait until they can verify their account through the mail.  If things get bad, you'll probably need a credit card to verify your account, but even then, you might be able to get by with a prepaid visa.

Although users could go elsewhere to trade games, they have chosen to use Goozex because they love the community here, and the service itself. Legitimate complaints, as I see it, are attempts to make the service more reputable, and should be honored.

GREAT Posting.    I don't understand why legitimate complaints and attempts to suggest positive improvements in the system are treated the way they are at these forums.     It's also strange to see how poorly new users and their "stupid questions" can be treated here sometimes when so many users claim to be concerned about them and their initial experiences here.     I wonder how many new users have been driven away because the forum community can't treat them with the slightest bit of respect.

Amen to that! As you can tell I don't often post in the forums, but I do spend a lot of time looking around at what is being said and there have been quite a few times when I've just shaken my head in shame at the rude responses that have been given to legitimate questions....were they usually easy questions that could have been solved by reviewing the faqs? Absolutely, but at least the person was trying to engage the goozex community and make a legitimate effort to be a good trader, and that is exactly what we want.

On topic: This has happened to me several times (it took me almost two months to finally get a copy of Zelda, before the shortening of the negative feedback rule) and I think it will happen to any body that does a fair amount of trading on this site but it has still been a relatively small number of times compared to all of the other great trades that I have had. It is super frustrating while it is happening but you get past it. After all, anytime you have to deal with other people you are eventually going to run into a few bad eggs, but you can't let it ruin the chance for all the good traders that are out there. I do like the previous idea of the 'hand holding' walkthrough for the first trade or two, especially if it helps lead to a means of cracking down early on those trades that aren't happening to help speed up the process, so that if the new trader doesn't send the game out, and confirm it as shipped within the trade deadline then the trade is immediately canceled (or some such action). However, that seems like it could lead to some problems and confusion for mistakes or legitimate concerns and would be really time consuming to implement for the G-team...unless they hire some more helpWink. I don't think allowing members to limit who they trade with would do anything but fracture the trading process, but there definetly needs to be some way that allows for this sort of problem to be overcome quickly so that the legitimate trades can continue as fast as possible, and right now taking a more hands on approach in overseeing the new or negative accounts seems like the most plausible, if not the easiest solution.

On a positive note, I did finally receive Prototype today.      I was first matched for it on 6/23, but just 1 negative and a good number of timeouts later it is actually here.    Big Smile

A month ago I would have said that that is a ridiculous wait for a game after being matched.... but seeing as I am well on my way to beating that record time, I'm going to just say....

How is prototype? My copy is supposedly in the mail.

Didn't read every post, sorry. Hmm, seems people are caring about this situation again; started this thread about 8 months ago:

http://www.goozex.com/community/forums/t/30570.aspx

A lot of the suggestions here are good, but many of them are dealing with new users who are just being jerks/ not paying attention/ intentionally screwing with people. That's not really the case, in most of these situations, I don't think. This seems to me, from my experience, and from the OP's description, that it's a person who has a farther spot in the line locking up people ahead of them to get closer to the front. Being able to cancel a trade early, give them a negative, send them threatening PM's, charge them for the time they wasted us (maybe not those last 2); none of those will really help if the person can just make 5 more accounts and do the same. It needs to be stopped, not punished.

OP, I feel for you. This has consistently happened to me for at least a year now, and it's always on new games, many times 2 - 3 times in a row. And god forbid the person accepts the trade .... and it doesn't seem like any of these solutions will be adopted any time soon, which is a shame. A lot of them are really good.

One more thing: I am so sick of people saying: "deal with it," or "just appreciate it or leave," or anything like that. I want anyone who has said something like that in their entire life or is going to say it to slap themselves (hard). This is the laziest type of comment anyone can make. Either be constructive, or don't comment. What do you think these posts are meant to do, belittle the system? No, they're trying to help to improve by fixing problems, loopholes, etc.

instead of saying someone is wrong try coming up with an idea that would help the member or help goozex improve its service.

if the member had the game they wouldnt be on the forums, they would playing the game.

isnt that the purpose of this site?

It's good.    I actually wasted money to rent it because the wife and kids were leaving town for 3 days and I really wanted to play it during the time and was pretty annoyed when it didn't show, so I'm probably about 1/2 way through already.     It's a little graphically challenged, but the story is decent enough and the gameplay is definitely fun.     There's a few flaws to the game, the stealth aspect is pretty shakey.   The military isn't bothered by a pedestrian running up the side of a building or gliding through the air.     They don't mind if you drop down from 18 stories and put a huge dent in the ground in front of their face.     But every game has their share of these types of issues.

Exactly.    Despite the fact that it takes 26 hours to time out, I pray for that to happen when I matched up with a new user on a new game.    Having them actually accept the trade is far worse.

I personally believe the majority of new accounts are fakes.     You probably have about a 25% chance at best of receiving the game if it's in demand and you are matched with a 0 feedback user.    I also believe that if you look at all of the negatives the site deals with, a huge portion if not the majority come from 0 feedback users not sending the games.

I've been thinking the same thing about prototype.  It's quite hard to fill up the yellow 'alert' bar with 'suspicious acts'.  Hell, I landed on a troop from 20 stories and he was like "Hey buddy" (since I was disgused).  I then 'stealth consumed him' in front of his buds, and all was well.

Still, pretty cool game, I finally hit an area in the game where i've died a few times; before, I thought the game was too easy.

The farther into the game you get, the quicker it'll fill and the harder it is to stay unknown. After I beat it, I started a new game+ and played a little bit and was amazed how I could do pretty much anything(other than having attack/defense morphs active) and never raise an alert.

GOOD NEWS: I just got matched with a user, not the same one as last time.

BAD NEWS: The user is new, already has 2 negatives for not shipping (-40 total feedback), and has agreed to ship the game in 3 days. I guess Im in for 18 more days of dissappointment. This pretty much pushes my wait for UFC to 7weeks even though I was first in line...
