Renaissance 2K: wetwillies: Zach21: Then all you are doing is converting it into a digital recording, which just defeats the purpose of vinyl. How so? It's the same thing you would hear if you played it off the vinyl itself, except it doesn't damage it over time. Unless you actually want to listen to physical music, in that case it defeats the purpose. No matter how high the resolution or range of your recording is, digital will never pick up everything produced by an analog recording. The reason why audiophiles obsess over analog is because it's the purest way to listen to music. There's no post-processing and no lost information.

Exactly. At least as far as current technology goes.
sweeeeet theres a bunch of movies i want to get rid of.
and we do need retro consoles.
or atleast sega saturn... it has discs!
prease!
Sweet, I come home to find this.
I'm not wading through 7 pages, but are TV DVDs included as well?
Was on a final camp-out when this was announced. Oh, what I missed out on! THis news is incredible! Who cares about bonding, and performances and good-byes, I wanted to know this sooner! Regardless, this is frakkin' awesome, and I know I have a few BluRays to put up.
MY TACO IS BIGGER THAN YOURS!!!!!
What I want to know is if the DVD trading is going to have a similar system as games as far as what's included goes. I have several anime series and my wife has several TV series that we don't watch anymore and would love to unload, but we no longer have the original cases (when you live in a tiny apartment and don't even have enough room to display your book collection, keeping DVD cases is a pretty low priority).
Awesome ! cant wait !
will people really send in 50-100 point movies since it cost about 4 bucks to send them in bubble mailer included.
i can see this working for blue ray, tv series, anime and not so older flicks . a new movie is about $20 n $30 for blue ray so im guessing they will sell for about 300 to 500 points.
anyway i like the idea
That's awesome.
I'm going to be up late and ready the night this goes live to add games to my offers, not my requests. Got to get in the top of the line for all the old sucky dvd's.
Yes! It's time for anime!
Case Closed,Lupin the 3rd,Fullmetal Alchemist,Inuyasha,Family Guy,Futurama,this will pwn!
Oh wow... I never even realized this will incluse anime also, I don't know why I never even thought of this... I would love to start an anime collection, I've watched quite a few series' but I don't own any yet. I totally changed my mind and am so exited, I will be there when everybody gets online and the servers crash from people requesting these things to get first in line

Personally, I have plenty of DVDs I don't watch anymore and probably never will. Also, I will be looking for DVDs that I never got or have a hard time finding (like Garbage Pail Kids ). I have yet to upgrade to a Blu-Ray player, so DVDs are still my main movie source.
I am a little curious about the listings. Some come with digital copies, some are limited editions, some are full frame or letter box or both, some this or that and so on. I prefer letterbox DVDs, so if this selection option isn't there at the start, I may hold off on trading mine out. Also if the inclusion of TV series would be nice. Other than those unknown portions, I am excited for this.
I'm glad to see this comming. I'd love to get rid of some of my old DVDs to get some points for them

I'm a little worried about this as well. Popular movies especially have gotten re-released, released as "Director's Cut", and released side by side with "full-screen" & "wide-screen" versions so many times that there could easily be 5-10 distinct versions of the same damn movie. I'm hoping that at least "full-screen" and "wide-screen" versions will be listed separately, but I'm definitely going to tread carefully when I start buying and selling DVDs. If there's any room for doubt, I'm sending the specifics of my version whenever I trade a DVD. I can only hope that other people do the same.
Time to dump some dvds
Anyone know how the pts are going to work for box sets vs regular dvds?
