I'm currently matched in a trade where the seller has no previous trades, and accepted to trade out the game i requested 6 days ago. Normally I have no problem with new sellers, but he provided dc which has said "electronic shipping info recieved" for the past 4 days.... with no new updates. Is this another one of those situations where people create new accounts just to bump themselves up the queue, or am I speaking too soon?

if it says received on the usps website then its definitely on its way. Sometimes they dont update their tracking info until they have nothing else to do or they forget entirely until it arrives at your house  . Oh also you cant forget that there was no mail on Sat so it may have been 4 days but in actual mail days then its really only 2 because of the holiday and Sunday.

I have recently had a problem on ebay like this,I won friday the 13th (2009) for a total of $9.00.They got a tracking number from paypal and heres what it said.

Label/Receipt Number: 9101 1288 8230 0750 7626 60
Class: First-Class Mail®
Service(s): Delivery Confirmation
Electronic Shipping Info Received

-->Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on June 22, 2009 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

When I tried to check the account,it was disabled. Its been about a month and thats still all it says, paypal is looking into it.

Hard to say just yet but remember the 4th of july holiday slowed down the mail a little.

I have also noticed once on a game I sent out it seemed like a postal employee or 2 forgot to scan the bar code on the DC and nothing showed up on the tracking site until the day before delivery...

Keep in mind, although often you'll get some tracking out of the D/C number, it's not a tracking number.  There's only two times they have to scan it.  When it's received, and when it's delivered.

seller just messaged me with a reply that he was out of town and his brother returned the game to the store. He wants to cancel the trade now...

I'm leaving a negative on this one. I waited more than 10 days for a highly requested game only to have to cancel and (now) get back in line?

They normally scan it at processing plants also. And depending, sometimes they won't scan when it is received. Mine does it half and half where the first scan is actually in the processing plant.

Also just noting, If they buy the label. But don't ship anything. It gets stuck on that page. And I believe it's still stuck on that page if they void the label also

in my experience the length of time between when a package is scanned and when the info is updated on the USPS website have very little correlation. i have received packages that have had zero updates on the USPS website and sent packages that people received while the site had them listed as still in transit. i have also received pckages a day or two after USPS marks them on the site as delivered and vice versa. that seems to be a big part of the reason that goozex doesn't let people report negative feedback until almost three weeks. otherwise people would just go by the USPS website and mark a neg for any game that seemed to be taking too long to register on that site or was shown as delivered by USPS that they hadn't received yet.

and when leaving feedback go by the actual postmark on the envelope before you leave a comment that somebody was slow to send the game out when you leave feedback. if you get the game in condition listed then you should always leave a pos feedback-but if the postmark says they waited two weeks before sending it then leave a comment saying so. just don't leave a comment accusing them procrastinating without reading the post mark first.

So just to confirm, when the USPS website says that the shipping information was received, it does mean it was scanned by the post office? I'm a first-time seller that shipped out a game on Tuesday and as far as I know the game hasn't been received and I'm getting a little nervous. I asked the buyer to send me a PM when he/she receives the game but I haven't heard anything back yet. I thought maybe the "shipping information was received" message meant that I confirmed to Goozex that it had been shipped. But if it was at least scanned I'll feel better.

Shipping info received means they have a record of the shipping label. This happens when you print off a label at home and stick it on your package. The computer system at the post office registers the label, and receives the info from it. USPS tracking only sporadically updates, sometimes people forget to scan the packages, or the system delays the updating... you'll be fine if you shipped the game off. It'll change eventually.

Well I am in this situation as we speak, but from the other side. I sent out a game and tracking number only to not get feedback at all. Since I don't get my points until I get possitive feedback this makes me a little upset. The USPS tracker says the guy recieved the package 5 days ago and I sent him a message also. He never respond. Im going to give it a couple more day, but I sent out final fantasy 7 almost a year ago and I never got points for it cause the guy claimed it didn't work and refused to send it back to me cause I didnb't have paypal. If I don't get my points for the game I just sent out Im off this site and would rather go to gamestop, atleast I will know I get something out of my trade even if it is a rip off.

It means that the item was shipped but not necessarily on it's way. 4 days at "shipping info received" is long enough to be concerned. I just had a trade get a negative because it was lost in the mail. The user sent it, I got "shipping info received" and it never updated past that.

After 15 days if no feedback is left by user then Goozex automatically gives you a positive and your points. (That's after the initial 3 for them to get it in the mail so it's really 18)
