Referring to strictly Goozex as most stores have some sort of 30-day guarantee against this.
Seems to be just about every time, whenever I get a game on here, it goes down in points later that day or the next day. For example, I ordered Tenchu Z, and when I came to see if someone had accepted my request yet, I see it was accepted for the 200 points it was (and what I was charged) but that it had been lowered to 150. I felt cheated due to that.
Same thing when I ordered Halo 2 off of this site. It went down 50 points too, almost immediately after I ordered it.
It's frustrating when someone lowers the price of something soon after you buy it when you work hard for your money (and money either buys the points or the games so don't argue about the points system not being money). I've probably been cheated like 150 points or so and that's frustrating because I would like to get a higher-end valued 360 game but I only have 500 points.
No. I tend to expect it now.
Nah, I realize that's just how it works. Of course I have actually had a few go up after I got em...
It's only 50 points usually. I could care less. Still better then selling on Half.com or Gamestop.
Meh, sometimes. When I look back at games I bought and then realize how cheap they are now.
After using Goozex for awhile everything seems to even out over time

I got Fable 2 at 1000 points and couldnt trade it back till like 600 points and the same thing happened to me with Star Wars the Force Unleashed. If you receive a game on the start f its downfall and there are alot of them being offered then you might have to take a big hit of a 50 point loss each week until you can send it out - the longer the line in front of you the more points you stand to lose. You should try to keep things like that in mind when requesting certain games. 50 point losses are nothing if you consider the fact that you just traded a crappy old game away that you no longer wanted for a replacement game to play in its place for however long you wanted and only paid the cost of shipping and 1 dollar.
Nope.
Not at all. As the buyer, you determine at what point you'll get the game, and what you'll pay for it. If a game is at 200 points one week, and you feel it is well worth the value, you take it off hold and purchase it at 200 points. Just because it may go down to 150 the next week does not mean you didn't get your 200 points worth.
If you feel it might drop in price more, and be a better value down the road, then keep it on hold until you feel it's worth spending the points on.
Zach21: No. I tend to expect it now.
same and on the its only 50 points i asked for 4 games and they all when down 50 points one time they start to add up lol
I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every moment of it.
lol after I purchased 3 1000ers in quick succession, only to see them all drop by around 250s seemingly overnight, I slowed down on getting 1000ers overall. The loss stung, but I'm not sour over it.
Goozex is kind of like a gaming oriented stock market; you've gotta know when to buy and sell. However, actually wanting and playing the game takes precedence, so if you want the game that badly, it doesn't matter what you paid for it, nor what it eventually will drop to.
ALL games fall eventually (save maybe FFVII and a few other rares).

No not really,it has worked out both ways for me so i am happy with the system.
If you want that higher end 360 game, then wait. Keep the game you want on "hold" status so that when it finally reaches the 500 mark, you can then activate it and be the first person in line. It shouldn't take more than a couple months for a even a brand new released game to drop in points. This is assuming that the game isn't rare or a limited release.
Also, if you see a game has a high offer count and no requests, you should wait (unless of course it is already at it's lowest -> 100 points =] ). The game will most likely drop during the next point adjustment period due to the fact that there are plenty of supply and no demand. This is not always the case but most of the time it will drop.
Supply and demand. More supply = lower price. More demand = higher price.
Nope, doesn't bother me in the slightest. You can predict pretty well when these sorts of things are going to happen, so I just don't buy things that are going to go down in value unless I have a specific reason for it.
In fact, about the only two games that dropped in value as I held them recently were Skate 2 and Hot Shots Golf. Skate 2 I kept a few months and it's a sports game so it drops quicker than most. Hot Shots Golf is old, and I knew it could drop in value at any time. But I wanted it back.

If you can get it early though, you can keep it a couple months and trade it back out for full points. Then wait until it drops to 200-300 if you really liked it and want to add it to your collection long term. You just don't want to be one of the last 20-30 guys or so (number varies depending on title popularity and movement rates) paying 1000 points for it because once those remaining active requests dry up it's going to start dropping and that will likely be pretty soon.
