It's always hard to narrow down songs for lists like this... here are some personal favorites (among many others):

Juno Reactor - Masters of the Universe (this song got me hooked on the band)

Sonata Arctica - Fly With the Black Swan

Tarja Turunen - The Reign (she's the singer from Nightwish)

This sh*t is bananas B-A-N-A-N-A-S hahaha That song is awfully stupid and was in the running to be one of the the worst songs ever made  until Britney Spears made that womanizer song .............Shudders - Every time I hear that song I die a little

this song is very haunting I think its called Requiem for a tower from the Lord of the rings 2 towers soundtrack but Im not sure. The youtube user created an awesome atmospheric video for it using the anime My Neighbor Totoro I highly recommend it with watching the video with it.

If Lord of the Rings used it then they totally ripped it off from the movie Requiem for a Dream, but it's a chilling song either way.  (Unfortunately, after watching infinitely depressing Requiem for a Dream it's not chilling "in a good way" for me any longer... *shudder*)

90% of Muse songs

I mentioned this in another thread I think, but there is a cool song by "Mirrored Theory" called "The Cleansing".  He's an unsigned, self-produced artist from the UK, but his songs are sweet and his inspiration came from the game "Beetle Adventure Racing" fro N64!
