smkymtnkid:

BTW, a neutral is akin to a negative as the sender would lose their points for said game

For a neutral, the seller is still credited their points. They just don't recieve the positive feedback.

I could be wrong about not getting the points with neutral, I've never recieved one and couldn't quickly find the answer... however the FAQ states it's actually -10 to the feedback score...

A neutral is -10 to feedback but the seller still gets their points.

Now all of you saying he has to leave a +5, I am curious where the logic for that comes from? When if the case was in mint condition but the game broke in half during shipping? Since it happened during shipping is that also a +5?

If you request a case and a disc, and you receive a dics in perfect condition and a case that is unusable, then it is a neutral. You did not receive a working case, which was requested, therefore, you did not recieve the package as requested.

Just because the USPS broke it doesn't mean the buyer should eat it. If I send a full package and the whole thing is literally torn in half, disc and all by the USPS, then does that mean the person I am sending it to has to eat it because it was done by the USPS? I think not.

If the case was so ancillary to the requesting process as to not really matter, there would not be options detailing a manual or a case available to choose from.

If the game is unplayable then by all means it is fine to leave negative even if it is broken by the USPS.  However if someone sends a game that is in mint condition with a mint case and the case gets totaled by the USPS but the disc is still playable then I dont think there is a need to punish the other user with a neutral and -10 to their feedback because of something that is completely out of their control.

Sure it sucks that you got a case that is broken however if it is not the other users fault that the case is broken then there is no need to be an ass and leave a neutral.

Actually, the seller is equally screwed if the USPS breaks anything he sends.

If the seller sends a game and the disc is broken in transit, it is not the seller's fault but the correct feedback is negative, right? It screws the seller and it is not the seller's fault, but it is the same thing as this instance where the correct feedback would be I requested XYZ and got less than I requested.

The Goozex team ruled previously that sending a game as full package with a blockbuster case would be a neutral, so why is this any different? Only difference is the fault.

If the case was so unimportant then all requests would be equal, and there would be no differential between full package and disc only. Since there is, and he requested the case as part of the package and did not get a working case, then it would have to be neutral.

My only question is, just how was the game sent?  If it was sent in a standard bubble mailer, then the way it was sent is sufficient.  I don't see why the Sender should be punished with -10 Feedback Neutral when they did everything they were supposed to do.

Edit: If you want, you can go to a local videogame rental store and see if they have an extra case.  I used to work at Blockbuster and they always seemed to have extra cases.

I'd also like to see a picture of the case in 20 pieces!

I guess I'm one of the few who would feel a neutral was warranted in this case (no pun intended).

No one can tell for sure if the case was damaged in transit or not (unless the entire process of the seller shipping the game was on video tape)!

If the manual was ripped to shreds (but every piece of it was still there) I would think that would be grounds for a neutral too.  It may all be there, but it may as well not be, because you can't use it.

But, contacting Goozex as mentioned before is your best option though.

This is a strange world we live in when I can join Coras and dtp11 on the same side of an argument! Definitely could/should be a neutral, no matter whose fault it is. Be prepared for a feedback dispute and possibly having to send proof of the destroyed case. (photos, mail it in, etc)

If the game was shipped in that condition then I feel neutral would be warrented but not if that is something that happened in transit, especially if a bubble mailer was used.  I wonder how any of you would feel about this situation if you were the sender and sent a game that was in perfect condition in a bubble mailer and the postal workers destroyed the case yet the game was fine.  I know I would be very upset if I got a neutral in this situation.

However if the game was sent in a regular envelope a neutral would be warrented as the sender did not take the proper steps to protect the game.

Anyways I wouldnt mind seeing a picture of the case, it might help us decide if the damage was from postal workers or if the guy sent you a busted case on purpose.

Contact feedback@goozex.com and include:

  • Your name and ID
  • Seller's ID
  • Game traded
  • Any PMs exchanged with the seller
  • Your issue with the game

Providing pictures of the case in your email to Goozex would be a good idea as well.

If you don't hear back from them and you need to leave feedback leave a neutral.  Prior to doing so send the seller a PM to let them know the case was smashed and you've contacted Goozex about it, but haven't heard back from them yet which is why you left neutral for the time being.
