Long post, but what the heck. Here's my games and brief stories behind some console purchases.
Gamecube: Soul Calibur 2. Loved it. For the longest time I was an avid PC game player. I was getting very tired of "System Requirements", so I thought about switching to consoles. My Mom knew I wanted a console and knew I liked Zelda, so she told mWalMart would be selling the Gamecube with Zelda's Collector's Edition that Black Friday. She would buy it, but I had to wait in the lines. So, I woke up early, was one of the first people in the store, but they were out of the bundle. I politely complained and the store let me get another game, so I got Soul Calibur 2.
Xbox: Halo. It's allright, not really into the Halo games. It was my birthday and I was out of town. There's this gaming store that I always wanted to go to, but never got around to it because its at a bad location. Since it was my birthday I decided to go in. They were selling a few games for like $5. I picked up Halo and one of the GTA's I didn't have an Xbox, but I knew that I would buy Halo when I got one. I got an Xbox a few months later.
DS: Animal Crossing. Love It. Came with the system. I wanted a portable "entertainment system." My Mom offered to get me a portable DVD player with TV. I figured since she would get me that, she would get me a DS. Looked around for deals, and saw Gamestop was selling it with Animal Crossing for like $130. Only problem was that the DS was dark blue and I wanted black. Went to another store to see if they had a Black DS bundle. They didn't but they had the blue one. Saw that the blue didnt look as bad as I thought, so I got the animal crossing bundle.
PS2: Don't remember. Not really an interesting story behind console purchase. Really wanted to play the Ratchet and Clank and God of War games. Waited a long time for a deal. Finally got one for Christmas when Gamestop was having the $30 gift card with purcahse deal.
Wii: Wii Sports (ha). Don't remember the first game I got afterward. Not really wanting to buy a Wii, but back when teh Wii was really hard to find, I happened to be at an out of the way store that had some in stock. I figured what the heck, and picked it up.
360: Orange Box. Love it. Back when 360's were fairly new, I saw an online store selling a refurbished for like $200. All I had were 360 demo disks so I figured that would be good enough for the time being. Well, while waiting for the game, Orange Box was on sale online for like $20, really good price for the time. I'm a huge Half-Life fan so I picked it up. Portal met all my expectations. Still haven't played Episode 3. Disappointed when I got the console though. RROD like a few days after I got it. Went through a ton of trouble to get it replaced.
PS3: Resistance: Fall of Man. Only played a little so far, not what I expected (not Ratchet and Clank-y enough). Wanted a PS3 because of God of War 3 trailer. Got a refurbished PS3 for like $200 from an online store. I still remmeber my problems with the 360, but I figured if there were problems, I would just cut out the middle man and deal with my bank. Other than a faulty controller that I was refunded for, the system has worked extremely well.

Funny how I still remember all this, considering when I got my NES and Genesis I was around 3 years old. PS2 and NES are my favorite systems.
SNES - Tetris Attack, it was bundled with the system. I still love playing it to this day.
By the time I got my 360 I had Perfect Dark Zero and Madden 06. I thought they were both great at the time, because it was a 360 and they were games for it. Then they just drifted off into the kingdom of meh. I think the first game I owned for my PS3 was Resistance 2 and I really liked that. I had rented Heavenly Sword before that and it was alright.
NES: Super Mario Bros
SNES: Super Mario World
Genesis: Sonic the Hedgehog 3
Playstation: Castlevania: SOTN
GBA: I don't really remember but i think they were Top Gear Rally and Tiger Woods 2004. I beat Tiger Wood and had a lot of fun with it. Top Gear has pretty hard and I got stuck and stopped playing it.
GC: Tiger Woods 2004 (I see a theme) Beat 75% of tournaments and 90% of world tour then the save file corrupted.
Wii: Excite Truck. Pretty meh. OK but not great (Excitebots looks better)
PS3: Burnout Paradise. I love this game
PSP: Loco Roco 2. This game owns everything else on the platform.
Atari 2600 - Pac Man
Commodore 64 - Was more a game console than PC, first game was Kickman on cartridge. Didn't have a floppy drive yet. Has to be my favorite video game machine of all time to ths day. Had a modem for it, and had so many games for that thing. M.U.L.E, those early D&D games like Pool of Radiance, Hardball, 4th and Inches, Pirates!, the Ultima games, Bard's Tale. To this day so many games just fail to reach the glory that some of these games had. Pirates! is still the best pirate game ever made, and it's not even close. Well before it's time, it's a better sandbox game than just about everything that comes out these days. M.U.L.E. is still revered among game developers themselves, it's such a bummer the dev passed on while in the middle of an internet version of this. That would have been spectacular.
NES - SMB and Contra at same time.
SNES - I talked Nintendo into sending me a free one to review - was 14 at the time but they believed that I had a small video game magazine I was publishing. Came with Super Mario World, Pilot Wings, and a few others.
N64 - Super Mario 64.
Saturn - Really, I don't remember which game was my first for this one.
Dreamcast - Again, this console is foggy for me and I don't remember what I got first for it. Only got about 5 games total, so I'd guess it was the copy of NFL Blitz that I recently got rid of, but I'm not sure.
PS2 - Tiger Woods golf. Was actually out of gaming for a while, but ended up picking up the console after playing this at a friend's. Got rid of my "collection" when I got the PS3, and it was almost all EA sports games.
PS3 - Tiger Woods Golf/Oblivion. Got both of those at the same time as the console.
Wii - Wii Sports/Wii Play/Legend of Zelda/Metroid. Got all of them together. Hated both of those game.
N64 - Some wayne gretzky hockey game - it was terrible because of it I sold my N64 and bought a PS1.
PS2 - FFX - The game was awesome. I barely slept for the next week staying up late playing. This is still my favourite game of all time.
Wii - Wario Ware Smooth Moves - The game was fine, nothing special.
Xbox 360 - Viva Pinata - It was on sale for $10 and it was a great investment.
PS3 - Heavenly Sword - Only got it because the wife wanted it. The game was fine but way too short. I wanted to get the game off of Goozex but the wife wanted it ASAP so she won that argument. After she was done playing it (first night) she stated "Why didnt you just get it off of Goozex". Damn women.
My memory is pretty foggy, and I only knew two of these off hand, and another one by searching Goozex.
NES - Mario Bros./Duck Hunt - Even though this was the first system I played on, it was technically my brother's, and he might have gotten it shortly after I was born. I'm assuming that is the game it came with, and that it was probably the first one.
SNES - Super Mario Bros All Stars - My brother got this when they re-released them even smaller than before. It didn't come with a game, and I have no idea which was the first game he bought. But I know for sure that the first game I bought for it was this.
Gameboy Pocket - Pokemon Blue - This is the only one I knew from memory, because my family got it (The Gameboy Pocket and Pokemon Blue) by trading in Kool-Aid points. I played this game so many times, and it was not only the first game I got for it, but the only one that got significant play time since the two that I bought were Super Mario Land and Donkey Kong Country 2, both of which were nothing like the games for the SNES (which I thought they would be).
N64 - 5 games - Okay, I bought this used (with my brother) with a bundle of 5 awful games. One of the games was Star Wars Episode 1 Racer, which is the only game I remember.
GBA - Yu-Gi-Oh World Championship Tournament 2004 - I bought the GBA at the same used game place as the N64. Actually, it was a Christmas present, but I knew about it. I bought the game at Walmart, and up until Goozex, had only owned 3 Yu-Gi-Oh! games for the GBA (all of which I bought new).
PS2 - Smackdown vs Raw 2006 - Okay, I actually have no idea what the first game was, in fact it might have been three games at once. I know for sure thought that this one was one of the first ones.
Wii - Super Smash Bros Brawl - By the looks of it, I think this was the first game I got with the Wii. Good choice since it's one of my favorites. Although this was the first one I bought online, it's possible I got another game first (I have no idea since any game I've gotten for the Wii I either got on Goozex or bought online).
NDS - Advance Wars Dual Strike - Came with the system when I bought it used, shipped off on Goozex after only trying it out. (though I might get it again after hearing good things about it here)
360 - (The) Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - This one I got on Goozex. I actually requested Bioshock first, but this one arrived before it.
Wait, what? I can't remember that far back...my memory really sucks. All I can remember are the games that I really liked for each older system because they stick out in my memory. Doesn't necessarily mean they were the first ones when I got the system though. But for the new systems, if I remember correctly...
PSP: Either Untold Legends Brotherhood of the Blade, or Lumines. Probably Lumines but I don't remember (awesome game by the way).
NDS: LoZ Phantom Hourglass - I got it with the Limited Edition Golden LoZ DS <3. I was actually considering not getting a DS but when I heard this was coming out, I had to get it. I even waited in line for hours on black friday to get it at a good price . It was right around my birthday too so it was like a nice birthday gift for myself. ;)
Xbox360: Elder Scrolls Oblivion - I think...it was one of the release titles right??
Wii: LoZ Twilight Princess - I don't count Wii Sports as a first game!
Edit: I liked all above mentioned games.
