Mitch Hedberg died? When? What happened to him?  I saw him perform live and he was hilarious.

"Heart attack" a couple of years ago I believe. Although I'm pretty sure in his case it was actually a drug overdose. Either way, it's a real shame.

Chris Farley always comes to mind when I hear of a great comedian that O-D'd....

And don't forget John Belushi

Man still cant believe he's gone. Was my childhood idol growing up. I remember crying when I was little in the hospital because I couldn't listen to his music, or so my mom tells me. RIP MJ. I have to think his body was pretty weak. My uncle had a heart attack and survived and he was a pretty big alcholic. I don't think he was very strong, seems that his life and all the negative stuff took a toll on him emotionally and physically. So. sad

Not a fan of "pop" music especially his particular genre, so I really have no emotional reaction to MJ dying.  Although the circumstances around his death have made for some interesting pop culture "breaking news" articles.

I find it distasteful and digusting the way some corporations and attention whores are using someone's death as a springboard to make headlines or get press.  Like XBOX releasing thriller "for free!" on XBL.  When was the Thriller video ever not free exactly?  And why XBL?  Corey Feldman dressing up like MJ from the 80s and during a press tour about his own pathetic band because he was once friends with him 20 years ago?  Lou Farigno was apparently working out with him and never noticed he only weighed 112 pounds etc..?

It's amazing how people close to someone ignore obvious signs of severe medical problems and drug addiction if they have enough money or star power.  No one ever set limits w/ MJ it seems or stood up to his crazy lifestyle demands like paying off his Xwife to buy her surrogate kids, or his now confirmed prescription drug abuse and clear neglect of his own health.  Why was it legal or ethical for so many doctors to perform so many plastic surgeries on this guy until the point of his face literally collapsing?

Where was the medical board when this was happening to him?  Why is it that if you have enough money you can get hundreds of dangerous surgeries and all the pain killer scripts you can eat.. without anyone even remotely raising a red flag?

If anything the death of MJ is something that could possibly draw attention to our grossly flawed medical system in this country.  The rich can get any treatment they want, even if it will destroy their face and eventually cause their own deaths.  The poor get emergency room treatment and their bills get passed on to the tax paying middle class.  The middle class as always just wait in lines and get the red tape run around from insurance companies.

What doctor has the ethics to look at someone like MJ and perform yet another plastic surgery on his face, knowing full well that he already had 20 too many?  Why is it even legal to have plastic surgery for non medical reasons?

Shouldnt plastic surgery resources be used for our soldiers and others who suffer horrific scarring from burns, wars, and other types of accidents?  Instead the resources were wasted destroying MJs face and making Donatella Versacie and Joan Rivers look like stuffed toy tigers.

Here come the sports player tributes to MJ.  CFL player lays down and plays dead after catching a touchdown pass.  Said it was to honor MJ.  Tacky or brilliant?

More important question -- who knew the CFL is played in the summer?

Tacky or brilliant?

In a way, both... But, all in all, was a nice recognition of the late MJ

More important answer -- Everyone loves the Canadian Football League...

However, I had no idea the CFL started already...

tacky - it was a complete waste of everyones time and really served no purpose to anyone but his ego. It wasnt even respectful - lying down dead to honor Michael Jackson. This guy is an idiot- Apparenly the CFL has some stupid football players too Wink

Moonwalk would have been a better tribute, or dancing like in Thriller.

Lol -- there has to be a better pic of someone under a rock...

Anybody gonna pay $25 to go to MJ's funeral?  Curious to know.
