As the 360 has now been out over 3 years, does the warranty start from the first purchase (on launch day for me), or the last time my 360 was replaced? My current one has been running strong for the last 16 months, but sounds like a dying giraffe recently so I'm expecting to bury it soon. Thanks if anyone knows the answer here.
Once you get it replaced the new warranty lasts for a year.
Well from my own knowledge. the warranty will go by original purchase date, 3 years from then is the RROD or E74 error coverage. If you get it repaired you get an additional year warranty on anything really so long as your 360 is not abused.

Yeah, I should have been more specific. This is all correct.
On a side note, MS has now instituted a BYOCC (bring your own cardboard coffin) policy. Looks like they still front you the shipping label.
