According to the in-game timer, I played Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive for 80 hours.

Unofficially there are probably others I've played more though, like StarCraft, Unreal Tournament and Blade of Darkness.

The first games I ever lost myself in were legend of Zelda and Final Fantasy for the NES. I spent almost an entire 6months playing them during fall and winter when I 8 or 9. I miss those days of pixelated bliss!

The games i have put the most time into would be all of the suikoden games, since they are my most favorite games; i always want to play them.

I have also put in alot of time in for final fantasy 12, atleast over 120 hours.

Soul nomad & the world eaters is a game i played alot too.

rogue galaxy

basically any rpg takes alot of time to play.

See my forums in my profile if you get the chance!

I-Weapon-X:

as for me, Warcraft III; there is no way to know for sure but i wouldn't be surprised if that game has taken well over 500 hours of my life

If you had Xfire, you'd know for sure!

Sadly, I think I take a large lead in this game; with a $17.95 game called Day of Defeat Source.  See below.

The original Day of Defeat on PC was my FPS multiplayer crack for a LONG time...nice to see someone else remembers it since it's the redheaded stepchild of Half-Life mods compared to Counter-Strike.

CoD4 on PS3 holds the record with about 23 days of gameplay in MP alone.  Guild Wars on PC was my first and only foray into MMOs and claimed close to 20 days (about 1/3 of which was idle time) - since then I swore off MMOs and their ability to suck up every free hour of my day.

Ah the original DOD, still has some play in it, but I'll be honest, I was spoiled by Source's pretty.  A grand game nonetheless, and I'm curious how much I too spent in the older one.  A shame the game didn't get as much attention as the lesser (in my mind) CS.  Never could get into CS.

CS's learning curve got to me early.  It wasn't exactly fun to try and earn your chops against a bunch of experienced players, die a minute after spawning, then watch your team walk (or camp) around the map for the next 5 minutes while you wait to respawn.  DoD at least allowed you to respawn to on a regular basis and the weapon balancing/level designs were excellent.

DoD: source is where I quit - tried to get into it after it first came out and didn't like most of the changes they made although the visuals were a nice step up. Making most of the rifles nearly useless killed me - I still miss my 1-hit kill Kar98.  Huh?

lol I remember the fuss about that.  They COULD still one hit, but it was either a kill (happy times) or 83 damage (sad times).  Since I was never much with the rifles ( a shame too as in the old DOD they were like 400 damage for a foot shot...lol), I didn't mind much.  I did miss some of the other weapons though (greasegun, FG42, etc) and was hoping they'd add bleeding again.

The nail in the coffin for that game was the new 'Beta' patch they released last summer for it.  Essentially tried to merge TF2 and DOD, while ruining many of the weapons.  TF2 is a glorious game, but doesn't deserve to mingle with DOD.  I haven't really played the game since, and it was uncharacteristic of Valve to just plow ahead with its addition despite a rather loud community opposition.

Still, I can't ignore the time I spent in that game, and I think I, and it appears many others, will have a hard time topping it...

I have thousands of hours logged into Tribes. No exaggeration. I used to play several hours a day, every day, but now I'm down to a few hours a week. Good times, though. That game is amazing.

No other PC game I've played did I play that much (the only thing close was WoW and more recently, TF2).

For consoles, I've probably spent most time in Mass Effect. Six play throughs, two of which were 100%. Planning two more 100% games (to get to the max level) once we're a little closer to ME2. Can't wait!

Diablo 2. Definitely Diablo 2. I have no way of knowing how long I spent playing it but after it was released I played every day for a few hours for two years. I still play sporadically.

After that, I have a save file for Disgaea 3 that clocked over 100 hours. I don't remember but I am pretty sure I did more than that in FFT and FF7.

I have brought to light a monstrous abnormality, but I did it for the sake of knowledge. Now for the sake of all life and Nature you must help me thrust it back into the dark again.

I don't want to even begin to count the hundreds of hours I invested in Diablo II, but every single minute of it was a joy.
