So over the course of maybe two months you have changed from a 360 fanboy to a PS3 fanboy? Will you be a Wii Fanboy in July? Why not just try to a be a videogame fanboy?

Ugh, you beat me to it. I was about to say: The only thing worse than a rabid fanboy is an indecisive one. Flip-flopping sides more often than Kain.

As gimmicky as it may be, I'm looking forward to the New Super Mario Bros Wii. If it truly plays like the DS one, there was actually some challenge to it...not COMPLETELY dumbed down. I'd like to see later levels, and maybe someone more than an executive sales team try to play it. My friends and I are big party gamers, and big oldschool gamers. We would sit around playing 8 bit mario, taking turns. This seems ideal.

And don't forget that he was a PS3 fanboy before becoming a 360 fanboy.

After Joystiq called Dragon Age Origins 'immature', which pairs well with the recent trailers, I am getting concerned ... IMO Bioware has been on a pretty steady descent anyway, but their games have been solid if predictable.  Isn't there *enough* puerile crap out there already?

I second that notion I was really looking forward to this but Bioware has more on their table then ever. Damn you EA! Slow your work horse down.

The whole thing I hang my hat on (if I wore hats, that is) is that they are currently working on marketing to a very console-centric crowd rather than the early marketing which was very PC-centric.  What has traditionally worked for console marketing - and really for action games on any platform - is blood, boobies, and big boom!

Let's face reality ... you have to be a serious grognard to get excited watching a screen showing menu options, interface selection elements, tactical gameplay, and the integration of turns and real-time combat ... HEY ... WAKE UP!!!!

I have full faith in BioWare and am with txa1265 on the notion that it's just the marketing angle that they're taking at the moment.  The game will be fantastic for all, they're just trying to reel in some of the younger crowd who's never heard of BioWare, and the best way to do that is action-oriented footage with a metal soundtrack.

My must-play list for Q4 looks like (in this order, mostly chronological but with priority judgements thrown in where there'd be potential overlap chronologically):

• Brutal Legend (360)
• Dragon Age (PC)
• Assassin's Creed 2 (360)
• Bioshock 2 (PC)
• Modern Warfare 2 (PC)
• Splinter Cell: Conviction (PC)
• Max Payne 3* (PC)

* according to Rockstar's website, it'll be out in 2009, though there's been no mention of it at all at E3

*Borderlands - recent addition now that they have confirmed split screen coop
