Most people will not use this service for very long because you have to wsit for so long for the whole trade process to finish before they even see the points which is making games trade slower causing a bottleneck in profits for Goozex.

 

The way to fix this is to let people set the points they want for thier game, this will cause an ebay like system where gamers will pay less points for games, people will get rid of games quicker or slower based on the point price they have set. More trades equals more money for goozex. your income would quadruple in no time. The trade Slots thing can still regulate home many active trades one person has open at a time, keeping people from scamming.

Buying Goozex points would still benefit Goozex as the final point sale price does not effect your income as it is a flat rate of 1$ a game.

If you switch to this idea you will find your profits growing and your trades increasing.. which leads to more customers in the long run.

This is a win / win idea, and I hope you take it to the guys who opened thier wallets to help make this place possible, I bet they woudl love the idea or start up another site that does the exact same thing as this place does using this framework.

I do and I did...and they (or the algorithm) proceeded to drop the price by another 100 points...200 points now for a $30 to $40 game.

no the point system is fine as it is, as long as it only costs me a dollar and a little shipping to trade a game were as you'd get raped by others *cough*gamestop*cough* if you wanted to trade in a used game.  I just wish they would let us trade tokens for goozex points.

I wish we could trade points for trade tokens as well.  that's how goozex makes their  money though...

next time please use the search function, aslo how about learning about the site first and using it. the point problem is not that bad, the whole thing  once you get 20+ feedback, (which is three succesful trades out with full positive feedback) you get your points as soon as you accept a trade.

i agree totally. i just hit 30 and i accepted a trade and got my points on the spot. so in my opinion the site, its regular users and the system as a whole is the best i have seen as far as trading sites go gametz i wont mention any names gametz but its much better gametz then a site i tried before this one gametz but i dont wanna seem like im flaming gametz people who use other sites which shall remain unamed gametz and just say that goozex would only be climbing down the proverbial latter gametz then climbing the steps.......gametz.....

I understand where OP is coming from, but really if you turned it into what he suggests then really Goozex just becomes eBay but you get points instead of cash.  I'm not really seeing it.  Perhaps a better alternative would be that if people wanted to they could maybe bump their offer a preset amount of some sort.  For example, 100-250 point games you have a bump 100 option, 250-500 bump 150 option, 500-750 bump 200 option, 750-1000 bump 250 option.  It's got to be appreciable enough that you got to really want the game for some reason or it'd screw it up for everyone else.  Just being able to pay +50 more on some games would be unfair to people who've been waiting in line.  Also, might make the valuations easier as Goozex could see that people are bumping a certain game a lot.  Another way for them to appreciate demand on a title.

I somewhat agree with the OP but not entirely. First noted that i think the current system is fine, ive sent games and recieved some perfectly fine and it didnt take much time. Yeah on the in demand games its a little harder to get what you want but still, who should complain?

I had a similar idea though and im just tossing it out there for opinions, no hate replies though please lol. No ebay thats not what we want to see, dont allow full control. Instead set up a basis to the trade where sellers can "adjust" the price but under certain terms. The first every game has the original price, say this game is 900 right now, thats the standard price that goozex sets and shows in the trade screen. Thats the most the game can be offered. But allow sellers to adjust below that price if they want, say they want to sell it for 800 instead so move him up past the 900's and offer it to the next buyer for 800. Just to be fair have tiers based on what the original price was. For example if the game is 900 the lowest you can go is 750.

Another thing is if its a full package make the lower tier more, that way people are not "forced" to drop their price if they dont want to. Not only that but it kind of gives buyers an inititive to request non-full packages. Dont have the full 900 but have 700? Then buy 50 points and request the disc only, at which can be sold at 750. A system can also be put in place where people selling at full price are not set at a disadvantage either, idk how.

I just think allowing sellers to adjust prices makes it more of a consumer runned area, not so much ebay, but your buying from other people and not goozex. Goozex is just there to offer the service. This to me wouldnt hurt goozex at all, probably just speed up process, make certain people more happy, and overall help in the long run. Like i said nothing wrong with the current system, if it never changes id be fine with that to be honest.

Well, most every type of negative comment has been given, so I won't go that far. But there's a reason that goozex works the way it does. There are a lot of other trading sites that have systems like you're describing, and, in my case, that's the reason I've tried them and then left quickly.

Suggestions are appreciated, but this system would ruin the one in place by goozex; and that's why it's as good as it is.
