YES YES YES! I never ever keep the sleeves from my DVDs; if the case has the same artwork on it, why bother? It's just more stuff to remove when I want to watch the movie. So I never send my DVDs with it, and I never expect it either. It's kind of a hassle to list though because:

- I have to list my items are disc + manual only because it's not a full package.

- I have to list my requests as full package because I DO want the case, but I don't care about the sleeve.

That is  what I meant.  I had a game that was very old - yet the case, cd, and manual were still together and in excellent condition.  Yet there is no way to indicate that to those who are interested in trading.

Besides, at the beginning of this thread it was mentioned that a game cd with the original case was worth more than a game with only a manual.  After all, the case is unique.  On this point I have to agree  Especially, since getting information on games is online is easy.  I have a few games with only digital manuals too.  I don't like that - but they are out there.

There are sites that you can use to print out game case covers with proper dimensions. Around here (central california) you can buy game cases for pretty cheap. Then you can always farm ebay for manuals.

If you send me a game with a cover that you printed out from your inkjet printer at home, you'll get a neutral so fast your head will spin.

I totally know what you're talking about--I've ordered several DO Wii games, printed out art from cdcovers.cc, and put them in a white DVD case. I have a decent printer; it looks fine. But totally unacceptable for fulfilling a FP request. The official stock is thicker than regular paper, glossy, and printed out on a professional offset printer.

I love how you only quoted and responded to something that is pretty stupid sounding without the rest of my post. I never said I had any intention of doing so. The keyword in what you quoted is you. /fail

I didn't read all 27 pages, so forgive me if this was mentioned, but... I don't see why, if you had the case and cover art you wouldn't just list it as "disk only" and then send everything you have. I don't see why this would be confusing, although I don't really care (my games are either used and so I don't have the case/book or new/traded, and always include the case/book). If you are offering the game, it does not have a book, so it cannot be "Full package" or "disk + book". That leaves you one option. If you are requesting the game, then you should know what you are willing to accept. If the case insert matters (which is really what you are talking about) then you want the full package. And can't you just print a case insert? Basically, the only possible benefit I can see from this is that a small group of people will be spared 2-3 minutes of confusion before they list their offering as "disk only". Considering the amount of coding, testing and so on required for this, the benefit doesn't seem to measure up to the cost.

I don't think you're quite getting it.  The reason that a "disc + case/artwork" option would be beneficial to someone on the sending end of a trade is that someone requesting that game for trade would be much more likely to request that option rather than the "disc only" option.  The reason that a "disc + case/artwork" option would be beneficial to someone on the receiving end of a trade is that there are many people who are only going to request a game if they can get the case/artwork (and probably more so the artwork than the case).  Look at any game and you'll see that the full package requests always outnumber the disc only requests.  Yes, it's not difficult to print a case insert, but it will look very poor compared to the original, and for those that request a large number of games it can be very timely.  Someone mentioned cdcovers.cc, which is a great resource for printing artwork, but it still takes time.  You have to search for the correct game, download the picture, change your printing settings so that the picture will print out exactly the right size for the case, print it, and cut it to size.  Also, I don't know if you were aware, but a standard size DVD case artwork is too big to fit within the printing margins of a standard size sheet of paper, meaning that you either have to use larger paper and a compatible printer, or you have to split the image into two files, print them one at a time, and then painstakingly cut them to fit and then tape/glue them together.  Even if you have it down to an exact science you're looking at a sizable piece of work if you're doing multiple games.

I think the point of this, at elast for me, is more for the requester to get games faster.  For me I would much rather request Game + Case.  I can't request Disc only or Disc + manual because I won't get a case.  For me I would rather have a case to store the game in than a manual I'll never read.

Right now I have to request full package if I want the case and wait forever on some games because of the game when someone may have a disc + case available but under the current system has to list it as Disc only.

Bingo!

Lots of people don't care about manuals, but care about the case. Plenty of people own games with good cases and no manuals. Sellers have to list DO, buyers have to request FP, and the end result is a missed opportunity for a match.

I say this because sometimes when we buy used games, they do not come with the manual but they do come with the Case. I think it would be a good idea to put that because it makes things look better if you have the Case and Disk as opposed to just Disk.
